Listening to Andy Reid at his press conference, it sounds like Lito Sheppard is staying. THANK THE FOOTBALL GODS!!!! I didnt want to see Lito Sheppard be traded. Yeah i know most of you think the Eagles need another huge ego on the team to catch the ball, but if we need to address that still (which i feel has been done with the addition of Desean Jackson, AND NO IM NOT SAYING HE IS A #1 WR, i think Desean Jackson is another Brian Westbrook, but in the form of Steve Smith of the Panthers) instead of trading Lito, we got an extra #1 in 09 to use instead.
So, im feeling very good about this season. Being an eagles fan for all my 27 years, i just cant wait. This team on paper is a special team, and thats as far as im going. Im not predicting a super bowl, which i would love, and who wouldnt in Philly? But the one thing thats got me excited is we have the rebirth of the mosst feared secondary in the NFL. Eagle Fans, remember when we had Troy Vincent, Bobby Taylor, Al Harris, and of course a younger Brian Dawkins in the back? That was a major part of those NFC Championship years. Brian Dawkins is my favorite eagle, and i loved that team! Now we have Asante Samuel, Lito Sheppard, Sheldon Brown, and still, the X Factor, Mr Brian Dawkins. All im saying, T.O. GET YOUR POPCORN READY BABY!!!! Something is telling me also, in my heart, knowing my boy Dawk, having this around him, well make him better, and he is going to retire having the best year of his career. Imagine the entire starting NFC Pro Bowl Secondary wearing Eagle Green in Honolulu this year? Im so excited! Were in for great things this year.
Im sure i will hear some of you haters and negative people... but cmon... THIS IS OUR CHANCE TO GET REVENGE ON T.O.!!!!!!! and im un-retiring my Troy Vincent Jersey!
