This game is likely to be a battle of attrition, as both teams are suffering from the injury bug--a virus that is wreaking havoc through the NFL this season. Which team comes out victorious will be the team that gets inexperienced players to play the best above their proverbial heads.

I wrote more than a month ago that "Ogden's career is over," that the future Hall of Famer wouldn't be able to play another game because of an injured toe.

I almost felt sorry for the Rams, but hey, this is football. You win some, you lose some. I could say something really harsh there, but I'll leave it at that.
I have some observations for the game, some good and some not so good, the first quarter had me worried actually. I like I think many assumed this would be a crushing brutal blow from the moment we hit the field...

The Baltimore Ravens may as well change their name to The Replacement Killers.
Backup QB Gus Frerotte had a horrendous day throwing 5 picks and losing 1 fumble in the face of constant pressure. Backup RB Brian Leonard had just 18 yards on 12 carries, and while filling in for the injured Isaac Bruce, 3rd WR Drew Bennett left the game injured and catchless.

Regardless of who is playing quarterback, I expect more questionable play calling from Brian Billick, whose stubborn desire to field a balanced offense means he'll refuse to give McGahee the ball early and often.
This despite the fact that the Rams defend against the run about as well as a high school team.

I've been a St. Louis Rams fan forever. I got into the NFL about the time Marshall Faulk got traded to the Rams from the Colts and have been a Faulk / Rams fan ever since. I have seen the absolute highs of the team; the days of the Greatest Show on Turf and super bowl rings. I have also seen and am watching the very lows as well. Last season we went 8-8 which I thought was ok...
