I think it is pretty apparent that I am a Skins fan. But a little known fact about The Hungry Actor is that I love seeing the Ravens do well-just not as well as the Skins. I lived in Maryland when the Ravens moved there and was obligated to follow them and have became intrigued by the way they were putting their team together.
I definitely had multiple offseasons of jealousy when Ozzie was making smart trades, picks and signings and my Skins were floundering. After being reasonably happy with my Skins this offseason I turned my attention to the Ravens and I was perplexed by the drafting of Joe Flacco. The first round seemed kind of high to draft some unknown out of Deleware who couldn't even get any time at Pitt. I came to the conclusion that Ozzie simply could not evaluate talent at the QB position (see Kyle Boller, Elvis Grback, Tony Banks and aging Randle Cunningham and Steve Mcnair.)
I watched the game on Monday and I have to admit I was impressed. Flacco actually thr...

black monday
Today is always one of the most bitter sweet days of the football calendar, we call it black monday. That's the day when you show up after a game and find out that one of your teammates has been cut or let go or whatever term you prefer. That's the bitter part. The sweet part is that they didn't call you on the off day or have someone waiting at the door for you. The worst is...

Joe Flacco's base salary for the 2009 season increased from $385,000 to $1.5 million because of escalators. The first-year starting quarterback...
Ravens 36, Eagles 7: Grading the Ravens
Quarterback: B
Joe Flacco had a fine game. His first half was shaky and he looked a step behind, but so did both offenses. By the second half, Flacco was making his reads and finding his targets. His pass to Wilcox in the endzone was a beaut, but it was the pass to Clayton, burning a [...]
Ravens to Work Out WR Darrius Heyward-Bey
FantasyFootball.com is reporting that the Ravens are going to take a long look at WR Darrius Hayward-Bey, starting with a workout on the 23rd. Here is the tidbit:
The Ravens are expected to have QB Joe Flacco throw passes to WR Darrius Heyward-Bey on March 23. The Ravens have the No. 26 pick, so it’s [...]
Ravens’ Live Blog Tonight….Around Eight-ish
I wish that I could promise that every minute of the Ravens preseason game against the New England Patriots will be covered via live blog. Unfortunately, a commitment will possibly hinder me from being around for kickoff.
With that being said, please feel free to hang out in the Fan-Sided Forums and check back every so often. We will be rocking and rolling sometime in the first quarter...

Quick Thoughts: Ravens vs. Texans
Ravens Dominate Texans 41-13
A Joe Flacco made great progress as a QB today. With his favorite target going down early he was forced to find other options in the passing game, which lead to Todd Heap finally looking like his old self. Joe stretched the defense with multiple deep throws, one resulting is a TD to [...]
McNair to Retire
A 1pm press conference has been scheduled for today to announce the retirement of Baltimore Ravens quarterback, Steve McNair. Earlier this year, new Ravens Head Coach, Jon Harbaugh, announced that McNair would enter training camp as the starter. Now what? With just quarterbacks Kyle Boller and Troy Smith on the roster, it seems likely that Baltimore will be scouting for a new signal...
Beyond Round 1: QB Joe Flacco
Every day this week, we will look past Round 1 of the upcoming NFL Draft and focus on some other prospects. The Chicago Bears could still go after a quarterback even if they re-sign Rex Grossman, so could a small-school signal-caller like Delaware's Joe Flacco be the next QB of the future?
Week 17 Quick Hitters
--Bill Parcells has a guaranteed $9M out in his Dolphins deal, assuming Huizenga sells his share next month. This gives Redskins Park a collective boner.--The Patriots miss the playoffs at 11-5. The Ravens should have stopped the Patriots 16-0 run late last year on MNF. The Dolphins narrowly missed 0-16 last year. The Cam Cameron-led Dolphins only beat the Ravens. The Ravens just...
Byron Leftwich is an embarrassment to himself, others
Kyle Boller was not Baltimore's first choice on draft day. It was Byron Leftwich, who today was cut yet again, this time by the Atlanta Falcons. How do you get outplayed by Joey Harrington and Chris Redman? Goodbye, career; hello, more cheeseburgers.
Hey, Aren’t You…Michael Phelps?
Not the kind of thing you want to hear if you are Ravens' rookie quarterback Joe Flacco.
Another Raven, rookie quarterback Joe Flacco, was getting a different kind of attention last weekend. The 6-6, 235-pound Flacco was mistaken Saturday night for record-breaking swimmer and Baltimore native, Michael
Kyle Boller to Start Ravens’ Preseason Opener
You knew it was going to happen, as it does almost every year. Kyle Boller will be the starting quarterback for the Ravens this Thursday against the New England Patriots.
And you know what? That actually might be the best move.
Troy Smith's struggles have been well-documented this season, as have the solid performances of Joe Flacco and Boller. The ideal concept is for Boller, who...
Birds Come to Terms with Fourth-Round Pick WR Marcus Smith
Now that the Ravens have their number one pick, Joe Flacco, in camp, the team is looking to make sure they get all their rookies in for the start of training camp.? They took another solid step in doing that Friday, as the team inked fourth-round draft pick WR Marcus Smith to a three-year deal.? Smith, out of New Mexico, was the 106th pick overall.? Starting 25 of 49 games, he totaled...
Love 'Em & Leave 'Em: Week 10
Every week, I highlight a few players to start and a few players to sit at each position. I'm a firm believer in starting your studs, so I won't tell you about how Drew Brees or LaDainian Tomlinson has a tough matchup - just go ahead and start them. I'll focus on the borderline guys - players you'll only start under the right circumstances. It's important to note that depending on...

My only disagreement would be that I think Flacco will prove to be hugely valuable by season's end... it won't take a few years. It may take a while to really establish himself as a premier passer, but I think he'll help this team win some games to push the playoff limit.
