* Nationally televised game

+ Game time subject to change due to flex scheduling

Week 1- Rams @ Philadelphia- Lately, when the Eagles have played an NFC West opponent early in the season, they look like worldbeaters. I don't see anything in the Rams that would cause me to think this trend will be reversed. PREDICTION: Eagles win big

Week 2- Philadelphia @ Cowboys- Dallas is tough to beat at home, and they are the paper division champions. I like the way the Eagles' corners can match up against Dallas, and if they can get DeSean Jackson into the offense, Marty can force the Cowboys to match up Roy Williams against Jackson, Booker, or Westbrook. That being said, I doubt DeSean sees the field on offense this early in the season. Prediction: Eagles lose

Week 3- Steelers @ Philadelphia- I don't like the way that the Eagles match up against the Steelers' running game. The majority of the Eagles' defensive linemen are undersized. Two rookie receivers can lead to a lot of mistakes, however. I would say that turnovers will play a key role in this game. Eagles will also be coming off of a short week. Prediction: Eagles lose a close one

Week 4- Philadelphia @ Bears- I don't think the Bears have any threats. Their defense isn't nearly what they used to be. Rex Grossman or Kyle Orton will be throwing against Lito and Samuel(as things stand now) which should lead to at least one pick. Benson hasn't proven anything. Prediction: Eagles blowout

Week 5- Philadelphia @ Redskins- I think that the Redskins improved a lot last year. I like the way Campbell played, and I like a lot of the players on offense. Who knows what condition Randle El will be? I think their D has a lot of holes. Prediction: Eagles win

Week 6- Philadelphia @ 49ers- It's a shame. I remember watching Montana and Rice when I was a kid. I loved the way they played the game. These are not my childhood 49ers. The Niners are terrible. A nice team to run into before the bye. Prediction: Eagles blowout

Week 7- Bye

Week 8- Falcons @ Philadelphia- Running into a bad team who should be playing a rookie quarterback by then is good for the Eagles. Giving Reid 2 weeks to gameplan? Priceless. Prediction: Eagles blowout

Week 9- Philadelphia @ Seahawks- The Seahawks were pass-happy last year. They should go back to the run more this year. If they continue trying to throw all over the field, I like the Eagles. If they get back to their running game, it will be tough. Prediction: Eagles loss

Week 10- Giants @ Philadelphia- I think they Giant's losses in the offseason hurt them more than most realize. I don't think they match up well against the Eagles. An early look at this game makes me think that Jim Johnson will shine and his defense will have a season-defining game. Prediction: Eagles win

Week 11- Philadelphia @ Bengals- The Bengals are taking backwards steps because of their refusal to build for the future. With locker room drama and free agency looming for players, I don't think the Bengals' focus will be on the game this year. Hopefully, none of their starters will be facing legal trouble. Prediction: Eagles win

Week 12- Philadelphia @ Ravens- Johnson will get after Flacco with a variety of blitzes. He is not known for his mobility, which should lead to some panic and indecision. Ravens' D is still good enough to keep them in the game. Prediction: Eagles win

Week 13- Cardinals @ Philadelphia- I'm hoping there will be a way to watch this game, but I'm guessing I'll be listening to it on WYSP. It's one of the games that makes me happy that we have the NFC West this year, especially because of the short week. Prediction: Eagles win

Week 14- Philadelphia @ Giants- They weren't the Super Bowl champs for no reason. I expect Plax to have a big game at home. Good news is we have a long week to prepare, which benefits Reid. Bad news is we can't win them all. Prediction: Giants win

Week 15- Browns @ Philadelphia- I really like the Browns this year. I think they'll win the AFC North. They've got players on both sides of the ball. Prediction: Browns win

Week 16- Philadelphia @ Redskins- I still think we have too much for the 'Skins. I like the Birds to improve on their performance in the first game. Prediction: Eagles win

Week 17- Cowboys @ Philadelphia- Nothing better than a rivalry game to end the season. This is the game where the Birds' heart and pride carries them to a victory while ESPN's pundits give them no chance. I look to Johnson's defense to cause another poor performance by Tony Romo if he's playing. Of course, both teams may be resting their starters. Prediction: Eagles win

So that's my view on this season. That would give them 11-5 record, which should get them the wild card. It would give them a 4-2 division record, and a pretty good conference record. The two game losing streaks I've predicted would certainly cause a lot of panic in Birds' fans minds. Feel free to disagree. Go Birds!

I have a question. Why do think the Eagles will lose against teams that run the ball well. They were like seventh in the league against the run, and now the DTs are more experienced. Plus we got Trevor Laws. I think we will do very well against the run.

Trevor Laws is undersized. I don't think we'll do terrible against the run, but it's not Johnson's strong point. I think teams that have success running the ball in the National Football League, and do it well, will find a way to do it. The major point is that I think the teams that run the ball well have better Offensive lines than our defensive line. I'll wait and see how Dawk is this year, but I definitely believe that our defensive line is our weakest point of our D. When your lineman are small they tend to get worn down as the game goes on. For teams like the Steelers, they will grind out a running game, and you don't have to just worry about Parker anymore. Dallas has a good O line and good backs. Same goes for the Giants, Browns, and Seahawks. I still don't thik that Bunkley or Patterson can be counted on to always get the job done. On the plus side, we should get a lot more backfield penetration on the pass.

We did great against the run last season...7th best in the league in fact. We were around 18th in the league against the pass, something Asante, Laws, and Clemons will help us with. Our D-line is not weak AT ALL....its extemely deep and talented. Bunkley and Patterson are a force on the inside and Ramsey/Laws can provided some fantastic depth. We all know what LaJuan is capable of, he just had a sophomore slump...he'll be fine. Cole, Clemons, Parker, Abiamiri will give offenses nightmares...expect big things from the 2nd year guy. Add Smith to that mix and who knows what he can do. It'll be interesting to see who can bounce back and have a productive season between Howard and Reagor. Both guys have excellent track records and know they need to step it up to even make the team this year.

Also, on the other hand, our defense wasn't really the problem last year. I think the Birds' offense should be a lot better this year. The major reasons I think this are that L.J. Smith is healthy and we should have a better return game, which leads to a shorter field. Short fields in the NFL equal more points.

our offense was top ten last year as well. We only struggled in the return game and redzone.

Hmm I think I hear an echo from another comment I made today....well said though.

i guess great minds think alike... or maybe we are the only ones who actually watched the games last year!

Not a bad analysis there. You are underrating the Niners, though. They are better than you think, plus it's the game right before the bye which this Eagles team always has a problem with for some reason.

The Niners couldn't score on themselves in an intrasquad game. I doubt Smiths going to be a stud all of a sudden and I doubt Bruce will help them that much. That leaves Frank Gore as their offensive threat...we key very well on feature backs. Add that along to their 25th ranked D from a season ago and I don't see any trouble there.

With Martz their offensive coordinator, their offense will improve dramatically. Smith may not even be their starter. Their defense is improving, Willis is a stud in the middle.

He needs players to make an offense better. He had Bruce (when he was still good), Holt, and Curtis in STL and decent QBs, he had Williams/Johnson in Detroit with a decent QB. Shaun Hill/Alex Smith throwing to an has been Isaac Bruce/Arnaz Battle/Bryant Johnson/Ashley Lelie/Jason Hill...i'll take my chances ANY day. They have decent CBs with my boy Shawntae and the overpaid Clements, their lines are horrible, Willis was a beast last year but he can't do it alone. But hey, they do have the best punter in the league!

He made it happen with JON KITNA. He's AWFUL. Enough said.

define making it happen. Cuz i disagree that Mike Martz "made it happen" with jon kitna.

Enough said? you might want to say some more because you just made yourself look dumb. Kitnas not "AWFUL." He did very well in Cincy and is very serviceable when given time to throw...but their Oline sucks in Detroit. That being said...not much "happened" anyway. Hes definitely decent...and I do believe I credited the WRs for making anything happen up there.

Are D-line played great last year, what were some of you watching? Look and see just how many times opponents got over 100 yards rushing on us, that's including adrian peterson. Also another way to stop the run is to score points on offense.

Good point COUSIND.Why do you think the Pats had such a good defense last year? The offense scored 10 million points and forced other teams to PASS. It's a whole lot easier to defend a team that is one dimensional. And yeah, or D line should be fine (remember all those goal line stands last year?) and the linebackers will be awesome! I love Bradley in the middle and think he will be a star.

Akeem Jordan is looking like a beast too. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he see a lot of time on the field this year.

Young, Fast, Deep, Talented....4 great adjectives for a defense, all of which define ours.

I've notice that most of the attention is being payed to the defensive line. Personally, I hate Considine, and if I were an offensive coordinator, thats who i would atttack. Anyone know how Demps is doing in the camps? I liked the pick, but Considine needs to go asap. (All in my opinion)

While I could give 2 craps about Sean on the defense...hes serviceable on special teams. There is one reason he has to stay though....and that is his smokin hot wife. I've said it before, but until they get divorced...he can hang around on the team. Visit the Yardsale at the Carnival which is run by the wives and you'll see what I mean...shes there every year. She looked amazing last year and was even 8mos preggo. Demps has been doing very well, learning a ton and performing better than expected....he'll be a stud for sure. Be great to see him take over FS so we can slide Dawk to SS and prolong his career.

Mikell is starting SS right now on the depth chart, so Considine won't be on the field that much. In addition, I don't think that there's no chance that our defensive line will excel. I just don't have any confidence in them yet. I mean, obviously, if everyone plays well every game, we have a great shot to be in all games. Where are we really weak as a team other than special teams and receivers, and I'm only saying that because that was proven last year. Any new year can rewrite a team's scouting report. With this team the scouting report can change from week to week.

1. how can you not have confidence in them? What did they do last season to make you have no confidence in them?

2. Have you seen Sean's wife? haha

That's why it's non-expert analysis. I certainly don't know best, but I'm writing based on my personal feelings and observations. I don't like an undersized defensive line.

Nice info DTRIK, thanks for the updates in the mini camps. Can't wait til they hit Bethlehem and the public can see what they are all about, even though you can see through the bushes at novacare complex. I would like to see Dawkins switch to SS, although,in my mind, its doubtful. I'm also glad to hear that Mikell is ahead of considine on the depth chart.

Good Post 4-4--although im going to have to disagree. Your schedule and predictions are on point, atleast in my opnion. I think our d-line should be credited with more then your giving them though. They might be undersized, but are quite resiliant.

Good Post im going more in the lines of 12-4 i think they will dominate in there Division Lord Willing... 4-2 sounds just about right maybe 5-1 i can see the Eagles Beating all teams an losing maybe once to either the cowboys and Giants....

I think the Eagles Will Beat the Seahawks this yr... An they can beat the Browns.... but yet again those are pretty decent teams an every week no matter the Team you can look lousy one Week an Strong Another...
This Seasons Schedule isnt that bad i think the Brunt of the Matches that may be difficult for Us Eagles is probably in the Beginning Figure Steelers Cowboys if we can do away with both teams early an perserve a 3-0 record than i would tell other teams to Be Worried seriously....

I think there is a chance of the Eagles going 13-3 or 14-2 even as well. If the special teams gets significantly better, there is a chance that a big return could turn a game around. Also, we were last in takeaways last year. Looking at the team, including the young, athletic, quick defensive lines, we should be able to score on defense periodically. I think we have a good chance to beat the Steelers and Seahawks. I think we can beat the Browns, considering the home game. I just don't want to sound like I drank too much of the Kool-Aid.
