NFL Breakout Player This Year

Who will be the NFL player that has a breakout this year? Can any of these players be household names at the end of the season?

I like the fact that you don't ramble off the same names we always hear. I could see Jason Campbell or Welker breaking out. Nice article.

Benson, no, definately not this year. Maybe never. They should have kept Thomas Jones. Benson's a bust.

Jacobs will score a bunch of TD's near the goaline as long as he holds onto the ball, I say as for a breakout, maybe?

Campbell, not this year, but could have his breakout in 2009? Tough defensive division for him to really shine in.

Welker, I liked him as a San Diego Charger. If anyone can make him a stud it's Brady.

White, isn't he in Fisher's doghouse for going awol during mini camps? I hope he busts out this year, but I don't see the real drive in him. Especially now that he weighs in at close to 300lbs or something like that....

Schaub could breakout this year in Texas, but I still think their offense is average at best.

My candidate for 2007-08 biggest breakout NFL player is Panthers runningback DeAngelo Williams.

good call on DeAngelo Williams

I like Benson, and with how he came on at the end of last season he may surprise people.

Maurice Drew- Jones!

What about Jerious Norwood of Atlanta? He was impressive in limited time last year and can do it all!

If you can count Travis Henry as a breakout player, I'll take him. If not, Schaub-Johnson sounds like a good combination. Maybe Mark Clayton on the Ravens because now because he has a great rusher and a guy like McNair at QB. And I'm not just saying that because he's on YB now. lol. Jonathan Vilma might get more recognition this year now that the Jets are actually expected to do something. And I'll take the fast QB in Minny just in case he has a good year, although I doubt almost anyone could have a good year with his WR's. I can't believe I forgot his name.

Ah. His name is Tavaris Jackson. Duh!

I love Welker, with Moss on the outside! Wlker and Brady shold have a very good year. Great moves by the Pats this off season, solid players and even more high draft picks...

Watch out for Anthony Gonzalez with Indy!!

Fred Smoot.

Dallas with new head coach Wade Philips, good at the defensive schemes, and leaving the offense to Jason Garrett, it is a good possibility that Marion Barber, RB, last years 3rd down RB will get the ball handed off to him more this year. He is stronger than J. Jone and he can get the tough yards and will most likely get a lot of goal line runs.

Look for Lawrence Maroney to make some noise this season!!!!
