  I`d love to know what the criteria is for choosing the best and worst. I disagree with at least two of the best, and a few of the worst. There are others that aren`t on the list, but should be.

  lurie should be ahead of kraft, atleast lurie`s team doesn`t cheat. i agree with the rooney`s being #1 though.

  It's getting hard to defend an owner(Jones) that constantly squanders away money and opportunity. At least Lurie has built the team and still has a ton of cap money to spend. Snyder, Jones, and Davis should know by now that you can't buy a Super Bowl. Building a winner using the draft and a combination of good veteran pickups like New England and Pittsburgh is the way to go. Hard to beleive what the Rooneys paid for that Pitt franchise and what it's worth now.

    It`s quite difficult to micro-manage a football team, while at the same time checking and double-checking every detail of a new temple to yourself, during its construction. I wonder if it ever occurred to Jerry, that he`s been somewhat lax as a team owner, and quite possibly won`t be able to field a team as splendiferous as his football Taj Mahal? Better he should remember the fans, those who have paid to get him to where he is.

      That's the problem with several owners these days. Jones is having a tough time selling seats, especially the expensive club seats. Winning last season would have put him in a much better position to sell them, no doubt. The economy is not helping either. If an owner can put at least a competitive team on the field, the ticket sales should take care of themselves. Of course, he'll have a lot of other events going on there besides professional football to help pay for it.

  My list is 1. Rooney's(legacy). 2. Lurie(consistent winning team) 3. Jerry Jones(hate him but he does try to win and that is the concept)3. Kraft (a lot of success although they did cheat and that is not acceptable) 4. Steve Bisciotti( defense and no offense and still winning....)5. Jim Irsay...(consistent and a championship, good all the way through)

      haha i know but as far as i know he does pull a good profit.... and there is a business side of the game.... he did sell his soul to the devil for those 90's rings......... oh well he could be 1st or last but he's still the cowboys owner and that's just trashy.

        The Cowboys, like them or not, are considered to be the most valuable sports franchise in the world at this time. Not bad for an old wrinkled up Arkansas country boy. Now, if he would just get a coach who can coach and get out of the way. I think he really tried with Parcells here, but Bill couldn't movitate anyone either. I think Big Bill was just tired of coaching.

    Jerry Jones does not try to win. If he truly felt that way he would surround himself with competent footbal people instead of hacks like the Pillsbury Doughboy, Dave Campo, and Barry Switzer. When he finally gets a true football mind in the facility like Jimmy Johnson or Parcells he runs them out of town.

      Jimmy Johnson was as succesful as he was because the had a boatload of talent on that team at almost every position and it was before free agency kicked in and busted up the party. I remember Jimmy Johnson's last playoff game when he was in Miami........a 66-3 beating by the Jacksonville Jags, so Jimmy wasn't as great as he thinks he is. Yes, he had some coaching talent, but he also had the most talented team in the NFL from top to bottom.

      Parcells is a goal-setter. He never has stayed with one team for very long, because he sets goals and a time limit for reaching them. It`ll be interesting to see how long he stays in the office at Miami. If he`d have been more like a Tom Landry, and stayed with the Giants, I think they`d have six or seven rings by now, and not the Steelers.

        Bill just wears on people because he is so rigid of a personality. His style is intimidating and it works for a couple of years, but then the players start to resent it. If he doesn't get his goals accomplished in that short window of time before his players start rebelling, then he's not as effective. You could see it on his face after that loss to Seattle that he didn't want to coach anymore. Actually, you could see it before that when they had a big loss to the Giants that same year. He was drained.

        I also believe that if Uncle Jerry were smart, he`d go after Bill Cowher and give him whatever it takes to bring him to Dallas. Bill is the kind of coach the Stars need right now, and badly.
