The word out of camp is that a sprained MCL is what sidelined Haloti Ngata, and that Kelly Gregg is favoring what appears to be a knee injury. So what does it mean when you two defensive tackles have bum wheels ? A. Shorten training camp. B. Avoid contact drills as much as possible ? C. Maybe Brian Billick was onto something with Camp Cream Puff for veterans? Could be a little of all three. Most players around the league agree that training camp is far to long and far to arduous for a sport they have been playing all of their lives. To an extent, I agree. If you come in camp out of shape as a pro athlete, you deserve to run. If you are a vet in peak physical condition, gimme a lap and go chill. As for avoiding contact drills, they can inspire animosity and brotherhood simultaneously. Forget about injuries for a second, sometimes you can develop beef with someone you've laid out on a crackback trying to rile up your defensive or offensive mates. Considering the wild side of the Ravens' D, that might not be such a bad idea. And yes, maybe Brian Billick was right on target when he gave veterans relaxed requirements at training camp. He was criticized, but with the straits becoming more dire by the day because of injuries, maybe they can hire Billick back as an injury management consultant or something. The Ravens just can't afford to go into Week 1 with crippled key players. Especially on defense.

Bruises in Baltimore

Some injury news out of Baltimore this weekend. None of it is great. Only one of them has me worried. 3) Willis McGahee and his lower-left-leg injury are on the sidelines. There is no word on how long he'll be out, though Willis has said that he doesn't expect to be sidelined for too long. Regardless, this injury doesn't have me too worried. I was high on McGahee when...

DT Ngata Carted Off w/ Leg Injury in Practice

Injury news for the Ravens today, and it's not good.? Reports from camp today say that defensive tackle Haloti Ngata was carted off the field with a right leg injury.? The injury took place during a full-contact drill when he got the leg caught in a pileup.? "We don't think it's serious, but we've got to find out as we go," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said.? Ngata was on the ground...

Paging Mark Clayton

After the first few days of Ravens camp the buzz has centered around a few things; Terrell Suggs absence, Joe Flacco's progress, and how different camp has been (in a good way) compared to Brian Billick. But, one story that hasn't been discussed much but will be key in the Raven's success this year is from the receiving corps. Enter Mark Clayton. Clayton was drafted 22nd overall...

Camp Cupcake, where are you when we need you?

Many disliked Brian Billick as head coach, ultimately the least of whom was not owner Steve Bisciotti, who flip-flopped and fired Billick following last year's embarrassing season. My beef with Brian was the play calling: conservative when he shouldn't be, and too aggressive when it made more sense to pound the football. I had no problem with Camp Cupcake (aka Billick's veteran-friendly...

ESPN Might Need To Review Its Mag's Fantasy Content

Again, I always preface this with the statement that I'm not one to necessarily poke fun at typos and errors, but to have twenty seven found in a national publication is a tad bit too much. ESPN's Fantasy Mag is out in stores now and for the low low price of $7.99 you can see some of the errors found by Walter Football too! Here are some of my favorites....Who the Heck is Greg...
