The Jets have agreed to trade DeWayne Robertson to the Bengals for a 4th and 5th round pick. Considering this is close to the value far superior tackles such as Kris Jenkins and Marcus Stroud went for, the Jets are making out like bandits here. Did I mention Robertson makes 9 mil a year and the Jets wont be picking any of that up? This helps to make up for the picks the Jets gave up to get Kris Jenkins and also clears up more cap room to complete their roster overhaul.

  • Thank god for this fast=paced off-season. The New York Jets absolutely had to make the moves that they have made so far (Recap: 1. Trading Vilma for 2008 4th Rounder, potential 2nd or 3rd Rounder in 2009, after we give them back a 4th Rounder in 2009, depending on how Vilma does; 2. Trading for Huge DT Kris Jenkins, the better of the two between Jenkins and Shaun Rogers for a 3rd and 5th Round 2008 Draft Picks [expensive but worth it]; 3. Signing Alan Faneca for the rest of his career. Signing Damien Woody and putting him at RT in place of Anthony "The Worst RT in NFL History" Clement; 4. Signing Calvin Pace, granted for too much guaranteed money, but muchhh needed OLB/DE; 5. And as of right now a potential trade with Cincinnatti sending DeWayne Roertson, who doesnt fit our 3-4 HEAVY LB and PASSH RUSH BLITZ PACKAGES at all! in exchange for 4th and 5th Round 2008 NFL Draft Picks).
This is asolutely amazing. Seeing Vilma get traded was difficult, but logical, and it is a business, not personal. Finally being able to say goodbye to the poor draft decisions of Herm Edwards, that could never find their niches in our 3-4 Scheme. I am so happy about having a 3-4 Scheme. I mean look at what the Patriots did, they built their O-Line and grew a crop of special LB's and CB's. The only thing that I see as being different in the Jets and Pats respective 3-4 Growth is TOM BRADY. A huge separation in talent from a young Brady to Kellen Clemens. But Kellen has yet to prove that he can or cannot get the job done with some talent on the field, talent I believe the Front Office just purchased for roughly 74 million dollars in guaratneed money.
Now where do the Jets Draft??
I still want them to take Gholston at 6, because you can always use more young and elite pass rushers and LBs. But!!!!, if DMC is sitting their at No. 6, I hope to god Jerry Jones calls Mangenius up and gives us those 2-First Rounders later on in Round 1. This would then be our potential Draft Picks (22, 28, 36, 98, Cincinnatti's 4th Rounder #108, Saints' 4th Rounder #109, Cincinnatti's 5th Rounder 139)....Anyone know what to do with these picks??? WRs?, CBs? DEs?

Unfortunately, Robertson is coming back to us, as the Bengals couldn't agree on a contract. Also, the Saints pick is for '09. Right now, we are looking at only our 1st, 2nd and 5th. Hopefully, we can still turn Robertson into picks.
If McFadden is there, you have to take him. Forget Adrian Peterson, this is the best rb prospect in years. Gholston may also be the pick. If not, they should trade down. They can use a slot WR, CB opposite Revis, a new FS and a TE to compliment Baker. We'll see what happens.
  • no dude. believe you me, DRob will be gone before the March 17 deadline. We don't have a 5th Rounder this year because of the Kris Jenkins Trade....this is actually what we have. #6-1st Round, 35-2nd Round, No 3rd Rounder (until DRob is gone), our original 4th Rounder-98 Overall, the 4th Rounder from the Vilma Trade to the Saints-109...I feel the need to explain this somewhat confusing Vilma trade...We receive the 2008 New Orleans Saints' 4th Round pick...Depending on Vilma's performance we could get a 2009 2nd Round (Saints) Pick or a 3rd Round (Saints) Pick, but we would have to give them in return our 2009-4th Round Pick back
