O'Connell speaks

Kevin O'Connell, the newest member of the Jets' QB stable, met the media for the first time since coming to the Jets in a surprising trade. It has been a crazy week for O'Connell: One minute he thinks he's going to be Tom Brady's backup in New England, the next minute he's on a plane to Detroit and the next minute he's on his way to Jersey. "It was definitely a shock to me," O'Connell said of his release by the Patriots. "I was getting ready to play the last preseason game and do well and continue to learn and grow. Obviously, there was a change of plans. It stung for a second, but as soon as I found out where I was going to be and the coaching staff and players I was going to be around, I was excited."
