MVN:
In a move that will please many in the Raider Nation, Stuart Schweigert was given his walking papers by the Oakland Raiders organization. Stu had become a lightning rod for criticism from the fans and had been blamed for everything from the Raiders' porous run defense to global warming. Stu will not likely be on the unemployment line, as he can be an effective special teams player or reserve safety.

We saw this coming last year when he was replaced by Hiram Eugene. I thought that he would be either traded, released or a June 1 cut. He will be signed as a reserve safety or special teams player by someone.

JaMarcus Russell: The Time is Now!
He is finally going to go through all of the mini-camps, OTA's and the Training Camp. We all read the rumors that he was north of 300 lbs. and discovered that the stories weren't true. He is a big guy and keeping his weight down will be something that have to be constantly monitered.

Darren McFadden: Impact Analysis
This is my take on the impact Darren McFadden will have on the Oakland Raiders.
Darren McFadden has just completed his first NFL mini-camp, albeit with some players that might not have a 510 area code four months from now. The goal was to impress the coaching staff. That mission was accomplished, but he has also energized the Raider Nation in the process.
As a fan of the...
Brandon Rodd, Tranell Morant, Marcel Reece-Raiders' making an Impact
These guys are all undrafted free agents that have talent and will have the opportunity to prove themselves at a position of need on the Raiders. There are no guarantees that these guys will make the 53 man roster but they'll have a shot.
Every year several college juniors and seniors leave school with the desire to be drafted and play in the NFL. After promising college careers...
Oakland Raiders: James Lofton, this year's Tom Cable?
At the end of the 2006 season, one thing was certain, the Oakland Raiders had no offensive line. After letting up an astronomical and league high 72 sacks during the year, the entire offensive coaching staff was replaced. Even longtime Raiders player and coach, Fred Biletnikoff, retired leaving the newly hired Lane Kiffin a clean slate in which to put together his own offensive coaching...
Justin Fargas key to Oakland Raiders offensive success
Its easy to ride the wave of hype surrounding fourth overall pick Darren McFadden. Add to that the promise of second year player Michael Bush who is considered likely to be the steal of the 2007 draft. There is a lot of talk of a McFadden/Bush tandem tearing up the league. However, Justin Fargas emerged last season as a top tier running back. He was all but written off after having...
Raiders release Stu & AGB
Too bad, I really liked Stu. I feel he took a bum-rap for being out of position on tackles he should not have had to make had the rest of the defense done its job. Great motor, Good special teamer. I am sure he will catch on somewhere soon. I just pray it's not in the AFC West! Man I hate getting torched by one of our own cast-offs!

Is it "Miller" time?
In my opinion Zach Miller could be the best TE the Raiders have had since Todd Christensen. He has all the tools to be one of the best TE's in the NFL. He's a great blocker and NEVER drops a ball. He could be the key to the Oakland Raiders success on offense this year. Jamarcus and Zach seemed to have developed a chemistry at the end of last year.

Good luck Stu, thanks for your services.
Captain Kirk to lead the Raiders "D?"
With Sapp gone into the sunset, the Raiders need a new leader on defense. What better place to look than the "mike" position and Kirk Morrison. Click through! He gets my vote.
Oakland Raiders: 2008 Season Preview and a Look at the Future
This is a story written prior to the 2008 NFL Draft.
The 2007 season started with a lot of hope and promise of a new day in Oakland, as Al Davis named Lane Kiffin the new head coach.
That was last year's story. This season started with a lot of talk this off-season of owner Al Davis sending Coach Kiffin a letter asking him to resign, followed by reports that he was on the...
Oakland Raiders who may have to pack their bags: Thoughts from a Reader's Side
With each offseason, there is considerable changeover in the Oakland Raider roster. Dominic Rhodes and Stuart Schweigert have been the first casualties but there are more to come. LDizzle speculates on who will be joining them on the unemployment line.
