Jansen, the Carolina Panthers' new long snapper.OK, that's already more than he's comfortable with people knowing.“If I can go out there and nobody knows who I am, that's the way I like it,” said Jansen. “If I go about doing what I can and nobody notices me, then we'll be real successful.”That's the nature of Jansen's job. A long-snapper is one of those occupations in sports that's becomes conspicuous only when the person doing it messes up.A bad snap is an embarrassingly high-profile error. If a punter or holder doesn't get the ball, it's out there for everybody to see. A blocked kick or fumble will usually follow.
