Lee Roy Selmon graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1975 with a degree in Special Education and membership in the National Honor Society. He also won the Outland Trophy and Vince Lombardi Award. Selmon was the first-ever draft pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He played until 1986, when he retired from the Bucs. His No. 63 is the Bucs only retired jersey. After being inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame, he joined the University of South Florida as an Associate Athletic Director of External Affairs. In 1995, he entered the NFL Hall of Fame, the first former Sooner and only Tampa Bay Buccaneer to date.
Lee Roy's first blog installment is about the South Florida football program which he played an integral part in developing. He also blogs about his beloved Oklahoma Sooners and the challenges they face this weekend in the Red River Shootout after a devastating loss against Colorado.
