LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Bears running back Adrian Peterson had full participation during Thursday's practice, and he appears set to return after suffering a knee sprain against Detroit on October 4. "[It's a] bright spot," Bears head coach Lovie Smith said. "Of course you know how good a player [Browns return specialist Joshua] Cribbs is, so we need all of our players. Adrian has been a big special teams contributor, as well as a good running back for us." "Getting Peterson back is going to help us in the return game as well," Bears special teams coach Dave Toub said. "He's a good blocker, he's a four-phase starter for us. Anytime you get a guy like him back, it's going to help us." Peterson was inactive against both Atlanta and Cincinnati. In other injury news, defensive tackle Matt Toeaina's calf problem looks to be fairly serious, with Smith reporting Toeaina "may be down for awhile." Adewale Ogunleye was limi...

Getting it done

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- We had our first glimpse of Nathan Vasher lining up at free safety in the nickel package in Cincinnati. Judging by comments made by Lovie Smith earlier in the week, Vasher may again be called upon to play some center field Sunday against Cleveland. "It's different, I wouldn't say easier," Vasher said. "I think physically it's a little less demanding. [It's new...

Cleveland at Chicago Preview

Reason says...Your 3-3 2009 Chicago BearsoverCleveland BrownsWhy do I like the Chicago Bears this week?I always like the Chicago Bears.Because if the Bears lose this week, I'll be throwing in the towel on a season earlier than I have since 2004 and will hate the sport I love for the next three months.Because the Bears are better at every single position on the field outside of...

Harris vows to be ready Sunday

Getting last week off has gotten defensive tackle Tommie Harris in a good frame of mind. There's a good chance that had as much to do with his own little bye week as much as his left knee, and now he's ready to roll Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.

They're out of their element

It's always tough to win, to force your will on an opponent, but it's nearly impossible when you create a reward system based on draft status, contract numbers or personal ego. Bears coach Lovie Smith seems to understand. He was asked if he was worried about looking as if he's playing the blame game by benching left guard Frank Omiyale in favor of Josh Beekman.

No Need for Covert Operation at Halas

Will Browns coach Eric Mangini lose a wink of sleep wondering if the Chicago Bears start Frank Omiyale or Josh Beekman at left guard? Uh, no, he won't. So why is Lovie Smith being so secretive?

Harris

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Israel Idonije knows that he may never have completed his long and unique journey to the NFL if it weren't for Sunday's opponent, the Cleveland Browns.

This Photo...

This photo sums up my hatred for this current Chicago Bears team. Yesterday’s game was probably the most pathetic and gutless performance I have ever witnessed in my years of watching the Bears play football. It made me absolutely sick to my stomach watching Cedric Benson smile, play after play, after play, after play. We all know why he was smiling, that pathetic thing the...
