I’ve been watching the comments for a few days about Chris Baker and his game with the Patriots and seeing if we’re worried about Baker and what he’ll do as a Patriot. I’m of the opinion that Baker’s a good enough player that in playing with the Pats, he’ll get more attention and such. Unsure QBs often throw to their Tight Ends or RB checkdowns. Why? Yes, I would have preferred the team keep Baker with Keller, but for the money to keep him a Jet last year, it wasn’t worth it to hold onto him in a role that would increasingly be one as a blocker as Dustin Keller begins to really shine. For more on the subject, read Bent’s post on Baker from last month. Another reason that I’m not that concerned? Just look at the Patriots roster at Tight End. According to Rotoworld and Adam Schefter the Broncos have now acquired former Patriot DL Le Kevin Smith. Smith has played three seasons and is listed at 6′3 and 308 pounds. According to WEEI.com, the Patriots have signed free agent running back Chris Taylor.  Taylor is a power back who rushed for 99 yards in week 17 of his rookie season. Gostkowski is keeping it straight

FOXBOROUGH - Pop quiz: Who holds the Patriots’ record for career field goal accuracy rate? Gino Cappelletti? Tony Franklin? Good guesses, but no. Surely it must be Adam Vinatieri then, the steady Super Bowl hero who hardly ever missed. Wrong again.

Check-In with the Patriots: Defensive Line

With five articles down in the series and only two to go, I’ll finish up the defensive side of the ball by talking about the defensive line. In the Patriots base 3-4 defense, which they have utilized with incredible success this past decade, they feature one of the premier defensive lines in the league. Right end Richard Seymour, left end Ty Warren, and nose tackle Vince Wilfork...

Contact lenses are on

Running back Kevin Faulk is one of only three players on the Patriots roster who has been part of every training camp since Bill Belichick was named coach in 2000. He knew this one would be different.
