Keep an eye on evolving situation involving Jets' defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson. He might, just might, become a target of the Panthers. They tried to include him in the transaction when they traded for former Panthers defensive tackle Kris Jenkins. But Carolina wanted draft picks -- they received a third- and fifth-rounder -- and didn't want to inherit Robertson's big contract, according to sources. Cincinnati, Denver and Detroit have been involved in trade talks with the Jets regarding Robertson (6-1, 317 pounds). The Bengals reportedly were going to give the Jets a fourth- and fifth-round pick, but he failed Cincinnati's physical and the deal fell through.

Panthers Don't Plan On Trading DT Kris Jenkins

Though Panthers DT Kris Jenkins has said heÂ'd like to play for a team closer to his home in Maryland, such as the Redskins or Ravens, we hear...

Jason Klye, LB, CEO

As if a sports story from Men's Vogue wasn't an obscure enough post for you, Inc. Magazine spotlighted Panthers' linebacker Jason Kyle's foray into the boardroom in this month's Finance section. It is refreshing to see athletes, like Kyle and former Chief John Alt, drifting away from the post-career broadcasting or coaching roles and using their contacts and...

Where the Oakland Raiders Stand: Defense

The other day I outlined the moves that have been made on the offensive side of the ball. today the focus shifts to the defense. The Raiders have made a lot of noise on that side of the ball franchising Nnamdi Asomugha, re-singing Tommy Kelly to a mammoth contract, and adding Gibril Wilson and DeAngelo Hall. The only departures thus far are are Tyler Brayton and Warren Sapp. This...

Now He's Your Problem, Cincinnati

The Jets have agreed to trade DeWayne Robertson to the Bengals for a 4th and 5th round pick. Considering this is close to the value far superior tackles such as Kris Jenkins and Marcus Stroud went for, the Jets are making out like bandits here. Did I mention Robertson makes 9 mil a year and the Jets wont be picking any of that up? This helps to make up for the picks the Jets gave...

Robertson Follows Vilma Out the Door

Just a few days after the acquisition of Kris Jenkins made DT Dewayne Robertson obsolete on the defensive line, the Jets have shipped their former fourth overall pick to the Cincinnati Bengals in exchange for a fourth- and fifth-round pick in the '08 draft.

It's time for 49ers to get rid of "interim" from Singletary's coaching title

Well, I've seen enough evidence to make a call. It's time for the 49ers to strip the interim tag from Mike Singletary's title, give him a long-term contract and make him their official coach. Am I right or am I right? Surely John, Jed and Denise-DeBartolo York, the 49ers' deciders, are having similar thoughts after watching the 49ers beat the Jets 24-14 on Sunday...
