The Patriots traded a conditional 7th round draft pick to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for former Michigan LB Prescott Burgess. After being informed of his trade, Burgess had this to say about the Patriots:

“They’re a very tough team, a very good team. They win Super Bowls. I just came from one great team to another.”

Burgess will compete to fill the gap vacated by the injury to Jerod Mayo.

Courtesy of the Baltimore Ravens, the Patriots have traded a seventh round pick in exchange for linebacker Prescott Burgess. He was a sixth round pick in the 2006 draft, and played at Tom Brady’s alma mater at Michigan. He figures to provide depth at a sorely needed spot, given the absence of Jerod Mayo.
