Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers saved his best for last in Sunday's 21-20 victory over the Giants, leading the Chargers on a game-winning, 80-yard drive with 2:07 remaining. The excitement was still audible in his voice afterward as he described that last drive to Sporting News' Bill Eichenberger and other reporters.
Q: What was going through your mind when you took the field for that last drive?Philip Rivers: We had the two-minute warning and a timeout to go the 80 yards. We work on that two-minute drill every single Wednesday. We've been working on it since March and all the different situations. That exact situation, we worked on it many times and guys just executed.
Q: Was it more difficult facing a defense the caliber of the Giants'?PR: Going against that pass rush, knowing that you are going to throw it every down, that's tough, and I didn't have anybody near me.
