No. We are fine at TE and Crumpler is getting old and has knee problems. There is always a "buyer beware" when it comes to released players (Kearse soon....) so keep that in mind.

ya, no way, this guy should end up with someone like the raiders who need help everywhere, the birds dont want this guy

NO...I'm one of the few who believes that LJ (when healthy) is Dmacs favorite target and works well in this system.

what do you mean "one of the few." everyone knows that lj is mcnabb's favorite target. he's the centerpiece of our offense, lj that is.

I think Westbrook is the centerpiece of our offense but what do i know?

ya u might be right, i personally think LJ needs to move on, thats why i think we need to draft freddy davis this year, then it will BE ON LIKE DONKEY KONG BABY

Everyone looks at his stats as a whole. Take '06, his numbers differ greatly when Donnie was throwing the rock vs Garcia. When Donnie went down with the sports hernia in '05 his numbers again went way down. He's a factor of Dmacs health, when Donnie is on so is LJ.

Crumpler is going to Carolina......he would make us much more dangerous in the RED ZONE.....but I would be concerned about the Knee.........

trotter830 you're killin me with this fred davis nonsense haha I think you've got quite the man crush on him. Theres no way we're gonna draft a TE that early. IF we do take one, look for a tall, big bodied project type TE. Cottam from UT has looked nasty in the combine thus far, Finleys a beast, and Bennett could be a stud. Davis from MSU is raw but talented. and hell...if we need a big bodied athlete for inside the red zone...Darrell Strong from my alma mater, Pitt. Dude is so athletic just RAW. used to be a QB and has great hands and leaping ability...speaking of which hes about to do his vertical at the combine

Crumpler? I agree with keep5alive and dont forget the man child BRENT CELEK!!

hey fellas, i love celek an im not too keen on the players ur talking about dtrik19 but im sure theyre good, and yes maybe i do have a thing for davis but why not? have you looked into this guy? hes fucking phenomenal and theres a dam good chance hell be around in the 2nd round, c;mon dogs, you never know homey about these tight ends homey, you need to pump your brakes and drive slow homey

Davis isn't even the bet TE in the draft...the kids from ND and Purdue play the same style as Davis. They're just as good if not better. I wouldnt want a 6'2 TE...have you seen 5 play lately? He always throws high..so lets make his life easier. Davis is not a very good blocker either

hmm, ok buddy, i disagree but thats just fine

and you're entitled to that...but why would we want a 6'2 TE who can't help us inside the 20? He did a great job for USC to move them down the field...then not so much in the red zone. Philly has no trouble moving the ball down the field, but they suck ass in the red zone. Where does a guy like Antonio Gates earn his paycheck? you guessed it, inside the 20. We need a guy whether it be a TE or WR who we can throw a jump ball to and can bring it down and Davis just isn't that guy. He'd be another LJ with less fumbles after the catch.

No....L.J. is healthy now, and if he can stay healthy he will play at a pro bowl level again. L.J also has a lot to prove and is in a contract year, so he will have a beast of a year if he wants to get paid. Don't waste cap space on Crumpler, cause we don't need another TE, and he sucked last season (he hasnt been that good the last 2 seasons).

LJ said about 3x last season that he was healthy and then missed time to his nagging groin. What makes you think it won't nag him next season? I'm certainly advocating Alge Chumpler...but I definitely wouldn't say LJ is healthy. They should pay him an extra grand if he would fall down every time he made a catch and let the D down him. He makes me cringe every time he runs with the football because he'll fumble it once a game.

Algae is a very good TE but so is LJ, and LJ has the chemistry & timing w/ #5. All signs point to Crumpler going elsewhere, we have more of a need at WR right now than at TE, so my vote is no on Algae.

Unfortunatley I think the Eagles will have a question mark or 2 at TE heading into the season no matter what they do. Taking Greg Olsen last year in the 1st round and Kolb in the 2nd wouldve really helped.

Watching the combine today and there are a number of mid to late draft picks that could give that entire crew a run

No... I am a believer in L.J and I think when he is fully healthy, he can be a true force in the red zone. The eagles need him to produce this year.

lj is the man funk algae crumpler

fat boy is on NFL network

NOPE

Does anyone think that Brenk Celek is the next coming of CHAD LEWIS...the man who caught everything thrown to him then just fell to the ground....thats what we need. someone who can catch a football and hold on to it before fumbling...something LJ cant do

I agree but you can't count on him YET.

nah man, forget alge, past his prime, remember when BDAWK JACKED HIM UP IN THE CHIP aka the greatest day of my life?? OH YEAH

No, But i like this kid out of Purdue he had a great combine ran the fastist 40 leaped the highist caught everthing thown to him a 2nd to 3rd round pick Fred Davis out of usc had a bad combine did not like what i saw GO EAGLES

We have LJ. We don't need another TE.

retarded poll

Youve written alot of really good articles. Sorry you didn't enjoy this one. Oh wait, you havent posted shit.

no!!! if it was a few years back id say yeah!!!! knees worry me!!! but we can unload schobel though!!! free up some morecap money!!!

i don't think so. LJ is proven and Celek had done a nice job. no need to waste cap space on alge.

No because the Eagles are good at tight end with veteran LJ Smith and and young tight end Brent Celek or sign Alge because if Lj gets hurt that will be good for a veteran tight end

i defintely think celek is the 2nd coming of chad, but i think he can be even better, the kids got balls

He has some good qualities, however the one that he is missing is the link with #5. I just do not think Dmac is showing him love. I hope he makes it to AZ to work out with the group.

ya but hes only been on the team for a year and he didnt even play much, how could they have a good chemistry already? ya i hope he works out with dmac in AZ too

AJ threw his way more than D has. I couldn't figure it out. Halfway through the season I kept thinking whats going on with Celek, why is he not throwing to him...I still think it had something to do with LJ's contract....I know it sounds stupid, but when you start lining the pieces up it could have been a back of the mind kind of thing

not sure i understand what you mean

Everyone watch Superbowl 39 close and tell me how good you think L.J. is. Fumbles, Dropped passes, missed blocks. L.J. has always been overated.

agree 100%

me too

yeah he is horrible i dont understand why ppl thin he is good
