In a night that was filled with massive frustration and what seemed like an inevitable heartbreaking loss, the Pirates pulled out a 2-0 stunner in 12 innings at Citizens Bank Park on Friday night.--Paul Maholm was back to his usual self (of late)--the dominant one. 7 innings, 10 K's (which I believe has to be a career high for him). But, that wouldn't be enough as he left the game in a 0-0 tie. Joe Blanton shut down the Bucs through 7, and the Pirates had 1 hit after nine painful innings. Somehow, though, Philly had the goose-egg as well.--Scary relief from Bautista, Beam (who got the win), Grabow, and Burnett kept it tied. Finally, in the 12th, Ryan Doumit led off with a double. Moss moved him over, and Pearce (who was having an absolutely miserable evening at the plate) doubled him home. A Sanchez single later in the inning brought home the second run.--Craig Hansen came in to save, got an out, but walked two guys, so Chase Utley was up, representing the winning run. Howar...
