TEAMS: New England Patriots, Atlanta Falcons
Tom
Brady hasn't lost back-to-back games in nearly 6 years. The Patriots
are nearly undefeated when the visiting team is playing for the first
time in Gillette Stadium. Wes Welker is out. So is Jerious Norwood.
Matt Ryan and Thomas Dimitroff are both making homecomings of sorts.
The Falcons are battling to continue their season-long winning
streak. The Patriots are battling to recover from a close, and
somewhat lucky, win against the Bills and a loss to the Jets. The
real player in today's game, however, will likely be...the weather.
Currently,
according to weather.com
the temperature is 63° and raining. That isn't going to change for
the majority of the game, so two teams that have built their success
this season (the Falcons) or this dynasty (the Patriots) through the
air have a challenge ahead of them. With Welker out, I think the
hands advantage goes to Tony Gonzalez and the Falcons. That's not to
diminish the danger inherent in competing with Tom Brady and the rest
of his elite receivers. Randy Moss is in, and you never know when
Brady and Joey Galloway will start clicking. It will be up to
Michael Turner and, with Jerious out, Jason Snelling to keep the ball
away from Brady.
Jason
Elam will likely be key today as well.

Patriots find offensive balance in win over visiting Falcons
Tom Brady found a running mate and the Patriots
finally got some balance in their inconsistent offense. Fred Taylor ran for 105 yards and one touchdown and Brady was content to
hand off rather than throw the ball 50 times, his average for his first two
games.
Patriots Ground the Falcons
The rumors of the Patriots' demise were greatly exaggerated. In a day of near-misses by the superstars, the big men on the offensive and defensive lines proved to be the difference in the 26-10 victory over the Atlanta Falcons. The Patriots controlled both lines of scrimmage, allowing the resurgent Fred Taylor to outgain the Falcons on the ground by a wide margin. Do Da Dirty Bird: I Hope It's Not Too Late For Us, Matt Ryan
I was almost done with last week's ode to the Atlanta receivers when I realized I was only singing half the praises I should have been. I mean, who throws them the ball?
It's sad that I've kept it inside for so long. Now is the time to profess my love for Matt Ryan.
Yes, the season is quite young, and more importantly, Ryan's career is quite young. A lot was made...

Three weeks into the 2009 NFL season, certain teams and players have begun to separate themselves from each another. Needless to say, the 2009 season has not gone as many of the so-called "experts" had predicted. After the Pittsburgh Steelers' victory in Super Bowl XLIII the popular opinion was that Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger had secured the top two...
