Brady
Sure it has been almost a week since the game aired, but sometimes you have to mull things over, think things through or try to forget that the Pats nearly lost to the Redskins... the first team Redskins! Top things I liked Tom Brady (12-19, 150 yds) threw two TDs to Randy Moss - looked like 2007 all over again! CB Jonathan Wilhite running back an interception for a TD - Ty Law and Asante Samuel sprang to mind. Let's hope he carries taht into the 2009 season. Vince Wilfork was a everywhere , showing some good speed and hitting hard. Mike Wright had a good game as well. I am liking most of what I see from the D Line. The defensive front four looked sharp in the 4-3, handled the run well, but the linebackers did not get enough pressure on Campbell. It was great to see Derrick Burgess chase Redskins QB Jason Campell back 20 yards or so, but where was his help? The Law Firm continues to impress even if it only against teh 2nd and 3rds. Top things I didn't like Redskins FB Mike Sellers threw the American flag on the ground near the 50 yard line. The NFL should fine him, suspend him for a game or drop his ass in Afghanistan. What a douche bag! Not having defensive backs making any tackles - that is why Jerod Mayo is chasing down and tackling receivers... Laurence Maroney dancing around the line of scrimmage. The few times he went straight into the holes he broke through for decent gains. His dancing days in New England may be numbered if he keeps that up Speaking of numbers that are up - Kevin O'Connell throwing 2 INTs - but he is gone know so not much else to say... CB Jonathan Wilhite looking like a broadway dancer as he ran the last 20 yards from his pick 6... you go girl! I hope someone said something too him and then showed him how stupid looked on TV. Paris Lennon reaching for the sky on a pump fake from Campbell that lead to Campbell strolling in for a TD. Too many fumbles from too many people and too many defensive back getting beat... Richard Seymour getting no where are too many plays. Interesting notes Ben Watson finally played and maybe he will go to Philly as the Eagles are lookinjg for a number 2 tight end. Hopefully the Pats send Alex Smith instead. Rookie Jake Ingram replaces Lonie Paxton as the long snapper. Deion Branch to be cut by 'Hawks? He is a nice little player and maybe the pats get him and drop Galloway or Lewis? I see Edelmann and Aiken making the team due to there special teams play. Tom Brady did practice and was (oh my gosh) seen throwing the football..... IN BILL WE TRUST!!

Tom Brady Expects To Play In Opener

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, pancaked Friday night by Washington's Albert Haynesworth, said he should be good to go for the September 14 opener against Buffalo. During his weekly call-in to Boston radio station WEEI, Brady was asked if he thought...

Optimistic signals sent

FOXBOROUGH - Tom Brady and his “sore shoulder’’ arrived for practice yesterday, Brady handing off the ball a few times but doing nothing in front of the media that resembled a throwing motion.

SAINT ANDREW’S NET: DOUBLE SOLITAIRE

Saint Andrew’s Net is With Leather’s daily link dump. It didn’t draft a backup fantasy quarterback, because owning Tom Brady is all the fantasy it needs. This is not a political blog (honest!) but here’s a can’t-miss post about your tax dollars at play that’s admittedly been blown a bit out of proportion. Capitol Watch Here’s a [...]

Patriots QB Tom Brady Looks Sharp At Practice

Based on how Tom Brady reportedly threw the football today at practice, the New England Patriots' quarterback has little to worry about after being...

Jason Campbell vs. Tom Brady

In another thread, zoony asked me to estimate how many more games the Skins would win if we had Tom Brady at QB. I estimated one or two. Zoony and Jumbo estimated three to five. I don't think it's possible for any QB to make that much difference because the QB position doesn't have that much value....

Chad Pennington and The Miami Dolphins: A Fantasy Perspective

Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are today’s biggest household names when it comes to football, and to be honest, there are plenty more names who are just as familiar. Chad Pennington to most is NOT one ...

How Do You Balance Cheering for Fantasy and Real Football?

I have never really been someone that is big into fantasy football. I am in one league this year with some other Bleacher writers, but that is it. I have not even made any trades, or accepted any of them. It is not that I am not into it, there is just a core problem I have in building my team. As most of you know, I am a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. They are my team, there is...

Who You Need To Be Draftin’: Quarterbacks

With many fantasy football drafts taking place this week, we're gonna go out of our way to help you improve on that last place finish of yester-year. If you're looking for analytical statistics to help you draft, you're in the wrong place. Relying on those same statistics got you that last place finish, remember? So why not try it our way? I knew you would.Today we'll talk about...

Team First: 2009 Broncos Similar To 2003 Patriots

If the late John Denver were still alive to write a song about the 2009 Denver Broncos season thus far, it would have to be called “Rocky Mountain Low.” After one of the wackiest offseasons any franchise in NFL history has had to deal with, it would appear to all observers the Broncos are reeling. In the past year, the team fired the head coach that led the team to its two Super...

8th pick (12 Man)

Ok, I don't really know how I feel about this team. I am putting a lot of gamble on my RB's, which I may need to trade a WR for a more suitable RB. QB's: Tom Brady, Trent Edwards RB's: Kevin Smith, Knowshon Moreno, Derrick Ward, Ricky William, James Davis WR's: Calvin Johnson, TJ Housh,...
