TEAMS: Baltimore Ravens
PLAYERS: Todd HeapRay Rice

Willis McGhee is struggling with a sore left knee, which allows Ray Rice to gain more reps and get comfortable with the new offense. I expect a big year from Rice. He is the kind of back that will always play well in the NFL. He is hard to knock off his feet, he has a low center of gravity, and his leg drive is very impressive. Add the fact that the running game is going to be so important in Baltimore.

Cam Cameron, the new offensive coordinator, has a huge challenge in Baltimore. With an offensive line that seems to be in flux, he needs to find a passing game but has no proven commodity at quarterback. What Baltimore must do early in the year is prove they can handle the pressure packages on first down and can throw the ball. Thinking you can establish the run to start games is the fastest way to find yourself behind 10-0 to start the second quarter.

You can only run so many screens in games, and before long the defense will challenge you to pass. If I was in Baltimore, I would make sure I had as many blocking tight ends on the team as I could find. Blocking tight ends can help in protection and the Ravens left tackles will need help. It will also help Todd Heap in the passing game, freeing him up to make plays.

Love Ray Rice, but the Ravens have much work to do and I don't envy the task at hand for Cameron right now.
