OAKLAND - Javon Walker had to be talked into not retiring last summer, despite signing a six-year, $55-million free-agent contract to join the Raiders.
This season, Walker seemingly needs to beg the Raiders to get onto the field, despite his insistence that he's healthy.OnSunday, Walker was a scratch among eight other inactive Raiders. Not that he was surprised.
"All I know is, I go out, I practice, I'm always the other team's number one receiver," Walker said with a smile. "This week, I was Brandon (Marshall). Next week, going into Houston, I'm going to be Andre Johnson.
"So, that's how I get my work in, and I give (our defense) a good look. I just let the staff and the organization make the decisions on however they want to make them."
Safeties a bright spot - Michael Huff didn't add to his league-leading three interceptions in his return to the starting lineup. But the rejuvenated fourth-year free safety did make another clutch play.
