The Gibril Wilson race is heating up now, as the Oakland Raiders are throwing themselves into the mix. Newsday is reporting that the Raiders are prepared to give Wilson a $6 to $6.5 million per year contract. This is pretty big as it has been widely believed that Wilson was only seeking about $5 million per. The other team known to be considering him is the Eagles, while the Giants only plan on bringing him back at the right terms.

The Eagles are answering Donovan McNabb's call for playmakers. After hours of speculation, the Eagles have finally signed Asante Samuel to a contract. According to the NFL Network, the Oakland Raiders have signed safety Gibril Wilson to a six year deal worth up to $39 million. Between this and the Tommy Kelly deal, the Raiders obviously are seeking to upgrade their defense.
