St. Louis Rams X:
TEAMS:
St. Louis Rams,
New Orleans Saints
PLAYERS: Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt, Jason David, Marques Colston, Drew Brees, Marc Bulger, Reggie Bush
PLAYERS: Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt, Jason David, Marques Colston, Drew Brees, Marc Bulger, Reggie Bush
Going into this game, the Saints were aiming to become the first team in NFL history to win 5 straight games after losing their first 4. The Rams were aiming to just get a win, period.
In their first drive, New Orleans looked as though they would fulfill their prophecy as the Rams were flagged with an offsides AND a pass interference on the same play to give the Saints the ball on the Rams' 7 yard line. On the next play, Reggie Bush punched it in from 7 yards out to give the Saints a 7-0 lead.

Holt is 75% with a bad knee not totally healed from surgery, and Bruce just came back from a concussion and a hamstring.
Bulger is playing with two broken ribs.
The offensive line on has Barron (now at LT), and McCollum at center, everyone else is gone to IR.
Leonard Little, their best defensive player is also gone to IR.
What I am trying to say is that it is amazing that they won. Linehan called his best game yet, playing to win and not sitting on the lead, and using Bennett and MacMichael, weopons they got in the off-season to improve their red zone offense.
I will be at the Ram/49rs game next week to give a further report. The Rams are a streaky sort. Don't be surprised they put a string of wins together towards the end of the season, as long as #39 stays in. He is the heart of this team. Period.
P.S: The Rams were leading Cleveland 14-0, before Jackson left the game with back spasms two weeks ago.
