The year of grossly over-paying free agents has continued. The New York Jets today signed offensive guard Alan Faneca away from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Faneca will receive $40 million over 5 years, with $21 million of it guaranteed. The Jets were originally seeking only four years, but added a fifth to make sure there no snags in getting this done.
