The Baltimore Ravens want to upgrade their quarterback position, and they may be targeting Donovan McNabb. Chris Mortenson of ESPN reports that the Ravens are going after the Eagles quarterback, and may be willing to offer up their number 8 pick in the draft this year.

It'll take a lot more than that and the Ravens have not much else to give up.
  • jonesbd3
I'd jump on that deal if I were the Eagles.
    • eaglesforevr
the eagles totally need DM5! They would never
    • JReddish
I'm a Ravens fan and I agree. I'm ill thinking about losing the 8th pick for an aging QB.

probably makes you sick to think about having a great QB instead of chewed up ass like you'd had since....forever?
        • jonesbd3
Look McNabb has only EVER had 3 complete seasons. He has recurring injury problems, those aren't going to magically disappear, he will be injury prone the rest of his career. Get something for him while you can.
  • Who would you trade him for????? Two of their best guys//////The DE and a corner????????/

    Go Ravens!!!
  • eaglesforevr
Ravens, u better not even try, DM5 belongs to philly & no one else! So stay away

  • Whymeps
It sounds to good to be true.... but if true i hope we get him. We really need a Q back
  • Alwayz4Philly
eagles green is the only color for d mac. if the eagles do this they will have 0% chance of winning the super bowl this decade. there is no other qb like 5 and it would be an enormous mistake that the eagles would regret.
    • You are not kidding Alwayz4Philly! Couldn't agree more. Just exactly what (if) are they thinking? Do you think that the so-called "Eagles fans" will be happy waiting another five years (at least!) to be a Super Bowl contender? We don't stand a chance next year w/o Donovan. No way! What, is Kolb gonna come in and be a star! Good luck w/that thinking Eagles brass - what a way to reward a player who has done nothing but been a real star on and off the field for this city. I wouldn't blame Donovan for all the unfair treatment he gets from people who should know better but we can't afford to lose him! Donovan don't even think about it! We need you!!!
  • wolfgirl
this cannot be true..#5 belongs in philly not in baltimore

    Placard_complete_small
No way the Eagles do that for just a number one. There would have to be some serious inclusions for that. McNair for McNabb. Forget it we want Donnie King of Chunky!
    • FIVERINGS
      Placard_complete_small
McNair? Hell, might as well send them Boller. McNair's done. The rumors keep flying. I don't see how the Eagles can let McNabb walk. An interesting offseason is in store for all of us.
      • An interesting offseason is in store for all of us.
yes it is & his name is McNabb :) !!!!!!!!
  • Eazy56st
Eagles would never give #5 up for that #8 pick, maybe next year. Ravens are stupid for going after #5, cause if #5 goes down in the season, the Ravens franchise would be set back too far. They would chase the owner out of town. We will keep #5 and go back to the Bowl and win this year, cause after watching the Giants I know the Eagles organization realizes we need some weapons to compliment #5 and 35 West...
    • Live4Eagles
I agree. I can't see the Eagles giving up McNabb for the #8 pick. The Ravens would have to offer more before the Eagles would even begin to consider it. Kolb is still unproven at the pro level. Eagles wouldn't be willing to trade McNabb for McNair, even if they threw in the #8 pick. McNair is older than McNabb and McNair has an even bigger injury history. I would hope that the Eagles give McNabb at least one more season. He played better during the last three games and should be back to his old self by the start of next season.

    Hmmmmm
    • HHHHHHMMMMMM indeed truth!!!! more rumor bullshit or what?
  • corey0429
look..... the offseason just started and the ravens can be interested in just about anybody for anything. the fact is dm5 wnts to be in philly and after all the bad things that was said philly wants dm5... reid has his career on dm5 and wont let him go for a measly #8 pick.. kolb has the chance to be great but now right now not this soon. with a new head coach in baltimore the ravens better get used to seeing either boller or smith behind center unless they get griese or grossman or even culpepper but the fact is no "great" qb is goin to baltimore. u might as well call baltimore the next "retirement" home for aging players who think they still have a shot at a ring its gonna be awhile before the ravens are competing in the nfl at an elite level again
  • EAGLERUNDOWN
two reasons mcnabb wouldn't be good for the ravens #1 besides ray lewis what tallent do they have none #2 mcnabb has already said he wants to retire an eagle and i think he will period.
    • jonesbd3
#1 It is the same Ravens team that went 13-3 two years ago, except they improved by adding McGahee. Last year they were marred by injuries. To overlook that much talent on a team, especially on DEF is ignorant. #2 McNabb may want to retire as an Eagle, but the NFL is a business, and if someone can't produce regularly they will more than likely find the door.
      • FIVERINGS
        Placard_complete_small
Ravens have/had a lot of talent on defense. Remember, they had the Pats beat earlier in the season. You are right. The NFL is a business. Andy Reid better be fighting like hell to keep McNabb in Philly. If he isn't, then he is dumber than he looks.
  • BDawk20
McNabb is staying, he has the franchise tag on him so he would be stupid to even think of talking with them. DMac is a Philly boy to the end!!!!!!

The clock is ticking. We'll know soon.
  • Remember My fellow Eagle Zealots The article says MAY BE TARGETING Don.............I believe we already have 9 picks......I may be wrong but I believe it's 9.........If anyone at the FO would consider trading Don especially after his last 3 games they are insane! I mean for a measly draft pick? That is plain stupitidy. If you did a trade who would we take? Three of the best defensive players would not equal who Don is.......It wiould be suicide....so what if Don Flops? he bottoms out and can't play anymore? We would have to deal with it.....BUT WHAT IF HE DOESN'T? HE COULD/WILL HAVE THE BEST YEAR OF HIS CAREER....think about it....
  • If i were the ravens i would keep boller as the starter, whats wrong with him, The ravens receiving core is terrible, in my opinion.
    • FIVERINGS
      Placard_complete_small
They have Derrick Mason and Mark Clayton as wideouts. Those guys are not too bad. Not much beyond that though. They really don't have much to give Philly except maybe on the defensive side of the ball and that's not where Philly needs to improve.
      • jonesbd3
        Don't forget Todd Heap
        • FIVERINGS
          Placard_complete_small
Yeah.....Heap is not a bad tight end. Still don't know what Baltimore would even have to send to Philly besides their first round draft pick and a couple of other players.
    • Keep5Alive
      Placard_complete_small
Troy Smith actually made a bid as the 2008 starter. He didn't look too bad out there.
      • FIVERINGS
        Placard_complete_small
True. Smith may be the man in Baltimore. Next season will tell the story on him.
  • stevens8204
    Placard_complete_small
The Ravens might try this considering the whole TO thing. Baltimore is still stinging over that one.
  • jonesbd3
All of you Eagles fans keep saying you wouldn't give up McNabb for an 8th overall, I am just interested what you would expect to give up to get Chad Johnson (someone who produces at a high caliber REGULARLY)
  • Latinferno
    Placard_complete_small
It would take a 2nd round draft pick to get Chad Johnson out of Cindy. Or possibly a 3rd this year and a conditional draft pick the following year (based on performance). As for Mcnabb, they already stated that an undisclosed team tried to trade for him this year (for THREE FIRST ROUND PICKS). So I highly doubt that he is on the trading block without some rediculous compensation in return. Sure, a great wide reciever will make your team better. But I haven't see a great wide reciever get his team to the Championship game multiple times (let alone the playoffs...Chad Johnson..Steve Smith..Larry Fitzgerald..etc. etc.).
  • Latinferno
    Placard_complete_small
Ooops!!! I just noticed....."OUT OF CINDY". Probably would take only a few beers to get him out of that! Haha!! What I MEANT to say was ...out of CINCY. :)
    • FIVERINGS
      Placard_complete_small
If Cindy is hot, then I don't blame him.
  • kgoon1590
i love how philly fans all of a sudden are saying, "no we want donovan" after tossing nothing but criticism his way all season. i would've killed for donovan the last few years.
  • rogerm1978
I kinda feel bad for McNabb...he's a great QB and deserves more than to be around the Eagles or Ravens. The Eagles organization and fans don't appreciate him nor have they ever. The Ravens??? Come on...He'd probably be a better fit in Miami if they also get a #1 receiver along with him...maybe Chad Johnson? Once Ronnie Brown comes back, that would make them into an instant contender...just a thought
    • FIVERINGS
      Placard_complete_small
Wouldn't be a bad idea, but I'm sure McNabb has a better chance of making the playoffs in Philly or with another team beside the Dolphins. Miami is a reclamation project right now. No veteran QB wants to go into that mess.
  • rogerm1978
True but you know how aggressive the big Tuna is and how he wants change now. I doubt they'll get McNabb but I'm sure they'll want someone who'll make an impact right away before their defense is completely retired. Maybe Brohm?
    • FIVERINGS
      Placard_complete_small
Brohm could be a good pick for them. Do they go for Matt Ryan out of B.C.? They would have to pass on McFadden and Dorsey though. Not sure how long Ryan will last, but it can't be past the 1st round or early 2nd round.
  • phillyfannaz
Trade McNabb for the 8th overall pick and either Terrell Suggs or Todd Heap or Ed Reed.
    • Keep5Alive
      Placard_complete_small
As much as I want Donovan to stay, I'd have to think about that one...A number 1 pick and Ed Reed, things that make you go hhhhmmm.
  • phillyfannaz
and then the eagles could trade their 2nd or 1st round pick to cincy for ocho cinco
  • EAGLES_in_O7
i swear to god that if donovan mcnabb gets traded to the frickin' ravens, i will hate baltimore more than i already do..... it wont happen...
  • GETusJUST1
jonesbd3- he has not only had 3 complete seasons, check your numbers...

    2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2007.

    2002 ankle injury
    2005 hernia
    2006 Acl

    Fool, get outta here.

McNabb is a Pro-Bowl QB, who will be in Eagle green in 2008 and beyond.

Get over it and get used to it.
    • I Agree he's goin no where
  • FIVERINGS
    Placard_complete_small
Ravens would have to trade virtually the whole team for McNabb. Just kidding, but Suggs, Heap and Reed won't get it done. Reed could help Philadelphia in the secondary, but the other two would be wasted acquisition for someone like McNabb.
    • Agree! Don't think the Ravens would sell their souls, which is what they would have to do!
  • bucknut
    Placard_complete_small
Who needs Mcnabb when the Ravens have Troy Smith. Give him a chance, he is the next "McNabb"
    • FIVERINGS
      Placard_complete_small
If that is the case....here's what they do. Just make an even trade and then Philly will have a much younger version of McNabb. Darn......that solves the whole problem. I'm a genius.
  • DONOVAN is not GOING ANYWHERE.........THESE GUYS HAVE EVEN SAID they ain't even after him!!!!!!!

JUMP off this wagon folks./ MCNABB BLEEDS GREEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    • FIVERINGS
      Placard_complete_small
We have to keep the story alive though. You take all the fun out of it.
  • WE NEED McNABB!!! TROY SMITH CAN'T SEE OVER THE D-LINE...WE NEED A REAL QB....PLEASE OZZIE GET DONOVAN!!!
    • bucknut
      Placard_complete_small
whatever troy did pretty damn good the end of the season, why see when he can scramble and move around in the pocket?
    • Keep5Alive
      Placard_complete_small
6'0" is not a prototypical QB thats for sure. Troy will start sometime this year.
  • Favre4
jUST Brian Brohm's name is cool! Dont get McNabb. He's over. Go BROHM! GO @#$%&* RAVENS!
  • QnZEsc0baR
Who ever says that eagles should give up Donovan McNabb, is a RETARD. Eagles should keep McNabb, and keep that wagon rolling until the wheels fall off. It's not often you find a true FRANCHISE QB who isn't just an elite qb, but a true class act. It's sad how a lot of So-Called Eagles fans (not real fans) say that his time is up and it's time to move on to the future. I'm telling you right now, if you let go of McNabb now, you will screw this organization to the ground, and be out of it for several years. McNabb is the best Eagles QB of all time, took us to 4 straight NFC championships (ya its a shame how ppl forget), took us to a superbowl on his own arm, while TO was injured on the sideline, was the first QB to go 30 tds and less than 10 int in a season, still holds the record for most completions (consecutive) with 26, and is the 2nd best all time with td/int ratio better than Joe Montana, and only worse than Steve Young. FORGET THE RAVENS, give Donovan McNabb the courtesy that he is due, and the respect he deserves by doing everything he desires as he has earned it. Let him retire an eagle, and keep Kolb sidelined until McNabb is ready to hand down the reigns on his own

    GO MCNABB and ofcourse....E...A...G...L...E...S...EAGLES!!!!!
