So far in the preseason, the Ravens starters have been very impressive. In Week 1, the team dominated the Washington Redskins, 23-0. Both the starters and backups played very well. The starters played through the first quarter and a drive, leading 6-0. Quarterback Joe Flacco was 9-of-15 with 105 yards, Ray Rice (pictured) looked very good, and Derrick Mason and Demetrius Williams looked OK. The defense looked especially good. While the Redskins offense isn't one that figures to make any noise this season, the Ravens defense also showed up. Starting Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell completed just three of his six passes, running back Ladell Betts had four carries for seven yards, and the "dangerous" quartet of Devin Thomas, Antwaan Randle El, Fred Davis, and Malcolm Kelly combined for seven catches and 69 yards. Keep in mind: that's four players. The Ravens starters looked even better the next week against the New York Jets. Joe Flacco's stats on the game are...

All signs are go

The Ravens' reserves had some anxious moments down the stretch tonight, but for the second straight week they were able to pull out a preseason victory. The 17-13 win over the Panthers held great portent for the Ravens, now 3-0 in the preseason. Their first-team offense drove repeatedly on the Panthers. Their defense got gouged for a few big plays, but for the most of the night...

'Heap of old' played against the Panthers

I'm hoping this wasn't an aberration, but it was nice to see tight end Todd Heap back in the offense. If he can become a factor again, it would quell a lot of this talk about finding this big name, go-to receiver. He had two catches last night against the Panthers where he looked like the Heap of old, and they were excellent passes from second-year quarterback Joe Flacco.

Preston's take on Suggs, Rolle, Boller and more

With the preseason winding down, I suspect we'll see some of the injured players prepping for the last game against Atlanta. Linebacker Terrell Suggs will probably try to get one game under his belt, and hopefully so will cornerback Samari Rolle. Unfortunately, I don't have a good feeling about Rolle. That injury might be more serious than some of us suspected. I also want...

Panthers Take On Ravens Tonight

The Panthers will play host to the Baltimore Ravens tonight at Bank of America Stadium in what will be the third preseason game of the year for both teams.Preseason results for the two teams have differed dramatically thus far, however, as the Ravens have won both of the preseason games that they have played, while the Panthers come into tonight's game with an 0-2 preseason record...

Walker continues the feud with the Steelers

Early in training camp, three-time Pro Bowl linebacker/defensive end Terrell Suggs goaded the reigning champion Pittsburgh Steelers by wearing a black t-shirt that read, "You Bet Your Sweet Ass I Hate the Steelers" on the back. Well, cornerback Frank Walker showed off his own Steelers-themed apparel this morning and the sentiment was similar in tone. Walker wore a black...

Ravens ready to rumble

With the exception of four plays on their first offensive series, the Ravens were nearly perfect on offense in Charlotte taking a 14-3 lead against the Panthers tonight. They had touchdown drives of 80 and 90 yards, dominated the line of scrimmage and kept Carolina on its heels throughout the half. Joe Flacco threw for nearly 200 yards in the half, including a 9-yard touchdown...

Fantasy Football Stock Market: Players On The Rise

RB Ray Rice (BAL) – Early indications suggest that Rice will be the go to guy in the running game for the Ravens in 2009. Yes, this does include goal line carries. Willis McGahee should continue to see a fair share of touches as well, but Rice is the overwhelming favorite between the two. As for Le’Ron McClain, he has been moved back to his original FB position and outside of...

Ravens Roll Past Panthers 17-13

The Baltimore Ravens came into Bank of America Stadium and took it to the Panthers on Saturday night, riding their perennially strong defense and an impressive performance by QB Joe Flacco to a 17-13 win over the Cats.Flacco, the Ravens' second-year quarterback out of Delaware, completed 23 of 28 passes for 247 yards and one touchdown, and led the Birds on two long touchdown...

Flacco, defense carry Ravens past Panthers 17-13

With Joe Flacco nearly perfect and Baltimore's defense as ferocious as ever, the Ravens appear ready for the regular season.

What Baltimore Ravens Fans Shouldn't Do

Do I like the Washington football team? Absolutely not. Do I love the Ravens? With all of my heart. But I don’t endorse this. Not one bit. I assume this video was taken at Fed Ex Field in the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, which Washington won in convincing fashion. The fact that this guy is making a clown out of himself when 1. Washington won, 2. The Ravens...

Ravens Rule Out WR Mark Clayton Playing This Week

Wide receiver Mark Clayton has been ruled out for Saturday's preseason game at Carolina, Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. Clayton returned to the...

Ravens CBs Chris Carr And Lardarrius Webb Compete For KR Job

Panthers vs. Ravens: What To Look For

This Saturday at 8pm the Panthers will be facing the Baltimore Ravens in their third preseason game. This, like all other preseason games has no bearing on their regular schedule and the final score won’t matter. What does matter is how well the team is progressing in their efforts to get themselves ready for the [...]
