I originally posted my outlook for the 53 man roster two weeks ago and a few surprise changes with Tredy Brushi retiring and Kevin O'Connell being cut. Also a few other players are back from injuries.
So who do I think will make it?
QB 3 Brady, Walter, Hoyer. Hoyer is a developmental player, but the Pats may choose a vet over him as Damon Huard is available and supposedly the Eagles may be interested to trade AJ Feeley. Feeley? Sure trade him striaght up for Alex Smith! Next
RB 5 Morris, Faulk, Taylor, Maroney, Green-Ellis. More then a few believe Sammy Morris will get cut. But I think he makes it.
WR 6 Moss, Welker, Galloway, Lewis, Edelmann, Aiken. Rumors of Deion Branch being cut may lead this to change, but at this point very doubtful. Terrence Nunn to Practice Squad. Brandon Tate on IR.
TE 3 Baker, Thomas, Watson. Eagles looking for 2nd TE could lead to Watson being traded instead of cutting Smith. Maybe DeVree makes the practice squad.
OL 8 Light, Neal, Mankins, Koppen, Kaczur, Vollmer, Wendell, Ohrnberger. LeVoir starts on PuP. Bussey to the practice squad.
DL 7 Seymour, Wilfork, Warren, Wright, Green, Pryor, Brace. Rookies Pryor and Brace add youth and depth. Richard makes the practice squad.
LB 8 Mayo, Thomas, Woods, Burgess, Guyton, Banta-Cain, Crable and yes another year with Alexander until he gets injured.
CB 5 Bodden, Springs, Wilhite, Wheatley, Butler. Springs has been injured and Wheatley has not been doing too well. But this group is still better then 2008.
S 5 Meriweather, Sanders, Chung, McGowan, Slater. Slater stays on for special teams play - now if he can only hold onto the ball and quit interferring on punt returns... I don't think Ventrone is eligible for the practice squad.
Special Teams 3 K Gostkowski, P Hanson, LS Ingram
So there you have it my 53. Let me know who you see making the cut and who will not. Anyone think Ty Law, Lawyer Malloy, Rosi Colvin or Junior Seau will be on the roster at some point this year?

One (Meaningless) Vote for Keeping Deion Branch
"Pity? It was pity that stayed Bilbo's hand. Many that live deserve death. Some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them, Frodo? Do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment. Even the very wise cannot see all ends. My heart tells me that Gollum has some part to play yet, for good or ill before this is over. The pity of Bilbo may rule the fate of many." -Galdalf...

If Deion Branch Gets Cut, Reunion With McDaniels in Denver Possible
Reports from the Tacoma News Tribune indicate that wide receiver Deion Branch, a big trade acquisition of the Seattle Seahawks a couple of years ago, could be "on the bubble."

Dropping Huard Shows That 49ers Are Willing to Gamble with Their Roster
Yesterday I wrote that 49ers Coach Mike Singletary talks a good game, but on the field, he's been leaning rather conservative.
San Francisco hasn't been mixing in even the most rudimentary blitzes in the preseason games, just to give opposing teams something to think about, and consequently they've had one sack in three contests. They've ranked dead last in pass attempts...
