Redskins Insider:
Punter Hunter Smith left Sunday's 16-13 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after straining his groin on his first punt in the first quarter and was unable to kick for the rest of the game. Redskins kicker Shaun Suisham filled in for Smith and punted three times for an average of 26.7 and a net of 25.3. After the game, both Smith and Redskins Coach Jim Zorn praised Suisham for being able to step into the position mid-game. "I thought

Two quick notes from Coach Zorn's press conference, for those of you who don't want to watch the entire thing above.First, at about the 2:00 mark, the results from punter Hunter Smith's MRI are in. Still, "Shaun The Punter" Does Not Have The Same Ring
In a relieved, loose Redskins postgame locker room, a whole lot of the players were going out of their way to congratulate Shaun Suisham -- a guy who didn't score a touchdown and had a stat line that was below league average in every major statistical category for the position. Of course, that was because he performed admirably even when the position in question wasn't one...

If there was any positive for the Washington Redskins during their dismal 1-2 start, it was their new punter, Hunter Smith. Pakulak Signed to Practice Squad; Shelton Dropped
The Redskins' punter competition has ended -- yet the team's 53-man roster remains the same. Glenn Pakulak, a 29-year-old journeyman punter, has been added to the practice squad. To make room for Pakulak, the Redskins have released wide receiver Trent Shelton from the practice squad. So you're thinking: If Hunter Smith is hurt and unable to play, why have Pakulak...
