Wonderful. Pats RB Kevin Faulk was found guilty of a similar charge and served a 1 game suspension. Holmes could be facing a similar punishment if found guilty.

Spot,if it was you or I or a co-worker or some average joe from up the block I'd agree. But in this case I think we're seeing more and more behavioral issues that affect the weekly performances of the teams.Everyone suffers when the best players aren't on the field and it's additionally insulting when the reason is because that player couldn't control himself appropriately according to the expectations of his employers and fans.Plus it IS illegal though you and I probably agree it should not be.Regardless, I am tired of seeing guys miss games because they violated NFL policies and rules of the league and of the game.

You make a good point here booger. I don't want my team not playing up to par because of anything.
On an end note, of all the drugs I did when I was younger, weed was my least favorite. That sh1t just "mellowed" me out to oblivion. I couldn't keep up with a conversation and it totally dried out my mouth. I actually stopped going to concerts because everyone around me would smoke it and I'd get high off the fumes. Yes I am an easy load! 25 years ago though I was snorting a line of meth in the morning and taking a valium of qualude (sp?) to go to sleep. (I stopped that about 24 1/2 years ago)

I stopped THAT last night. No, look. The issue at hand is not whether weed should be legal or not.It is that players continue to violate policies that they know will cause them to miss time if they get caught.Until weed smoking is an accepted practice in the NFL I don't want to see guys missing games because of it.

Geez looks like the league is turning into a collection of street ballin' niggas from the hood like the NBA.Maybe we should go back to the days where players got fifty bucks a game and when they got hurt or bitched we threw 'em in a dumpster and found someone else.I'm tired of idiots fuc*ing up the season for everyone.Ban this moron.

How can you quantify the dangers of weed as compared to alcohol or say coccaine? I feel you, man. But speaking solely about your example of accepted culture changing with the times, I would point out that coke and heroin used to be pharmacy staples. Now of course everyone knows coke and heroin have a much larger negative impact on society but I don't think this can be properly quantified to the point where you can say one is acceptable and the other is not.As for the case of the NFLer, I don't want my team to be comprised of guys who spend Tues-Fri getting high. That,to me is the bottom line here.

u got a great point on how heroin and coke used to be staples and over the years we see how bad them sh-ts ruin lives. we have yet to see lives ruined by the ganj on the level that heron and coca has, which has u shivering, scratchin ur arms and head, and robbin and killin people for the next fix. and ill add that if u have too much of either of them, u could fall out. u cant od on weed. if u smoke too much, it can get u sober again. i can argue that alcohol is worse than weed but its still legal. the government bitches about how drunk driving is one the of the worst things anybody can do, that it can get u killed or worse, kill others and all thats true. im 100% against that ish. but if the govt was really serious about stoppin drunk driving, they should ban alcohol altogether and go back to prohibition. there would be alotta sad people in the yard. but no. theres too much money to be made on alcohol sales and rehab. and if they really wanted to stop the drugs from comin into this country, they have all the means to do that. theres too much money in rehab and medicine to treat those diseases.

if somebody dont got weed, all they get is bummed out, play video games and look at porn til the sun comes up. people can say "ohh weed is a gateway drug." bump that. i been puffin on the lettuce for like 10 yrs now, not once have i tried coke or anything harder. its just a matter of self control.

I quit smoking it years ago but I still feel it's no more of threat than drinking, which I do a lot of.I believe it is realistic and in our best interests to open up the law a little and allow for regulated consumption the same way we do with alcohol.I'm not convinced that extending this "openness" to professional sports is without consequence, though. Really,I'm not sure one way or the other.Possibly,it would be handled exactly the same way as alcohol, which we have witnessed become a problem for several pros.
