The Indianapolis Colts announced this morning that they have signed former Ravens kicker Matt Stover. The team said that kicker Adam Vinatieri has undergone arthroscopic surgery to his right knee and is expected to miss four to eight weeks. Depending on Vinatieri's rehabilitation, Stover could be kicking against the Ravens on Nov. 22.

As much as it might be difficult to tear us away from the DT Ed Johnson saga, which didn't need much help taking on an extended life of its own, I don't want to forget the other issue of what was supposed to be a quiet bye week. What a Wednesday for everyone to analyze and express, huh? DT Ed Johnson released because coach Jim Caldwell said the guy wasn't getting it done on the field, K Matt Stover signed to fill in for his South Dakota hunting buddy Adam Vinatieri. Stover actually has a higher career field-goal percentage, ranked eighth all time. QB Peyton Manning practiced without any issues today...
