NFLGuru.net:
Minnesota Vikings starting quarterback Tarvaris Jackson suffered a sprained medial collateral knee ligament during the Vikings 23-15 win over the Baltimore Ravens.
Before the injury Jackson was playing surprisingly well completing 7of 11 passes for 82 yards. The sprained MCL will likely keep him sidelined until the start of the regular season.
Many people may think Tarvaris Jackson wouldn’t be a huge loss for the Vikings since he sucks anyways, but not so fast my friend — Gus Frerotte is the Vikings backup.

Minnesota Vikings: Would the Contract-Year Players Be Worth Trading?
Let me start out by saying that I love some of the players discussed in this article. It's tough for us fans to part with some of our favorite players.
With players such as Chestor Taylor, Ray Edwards, and Tarvaris Jackson entering contract years, it's hard to believe that the Vikings will be able to keep any combination of them.
Chestor Taylor wants to start in the NFL...
A clarification on Berrian
In a story we did for Saturday about the Vikings quarterback situation, we wrote that Adrian Peterson, Steve Hutchinson and Bernard Berrian had reached out to Brett Favre either via text message or phone call. Now, we’re told that Berrian never did “proactively” reach out to the quarterback.
Clearly, though, Berrian would welcome the chance to [...]
Vikings QB Situation Has Improved, With or Without Favre
by JJ CooperFiled under: Vikings, NFC North, NFL QuarterbacksBy the end of this week, we should know whether Brett Favre will be a Viking or whether he'll finally fade into retirement in Mississippi. If he says he'll play, the Vikings will have their best situation at quarterback since Brad Johnson left after the 2006 season. But here's the interesting part, even if Favre...
Same old story for 49ers QB Hill: He isn't much to look at
When Shaun Hill arrived at the University of Maryland, his teammates thought he was a tight end. Hill sometimes is underestimated because of his build, and that works to his advantage.
Suddenly Shivering
I've thought I'd feel mild relief if I found out that Brett Favre won't be joining the Vikings. But just this morning, I suddenly got cold: what if I'm wrong about Sage Rosenfels? My belief is that he's at worst mediocre, which would be fine for one year (last year the Vikes won 10 games with a Tarvaris Jackson/Gus Frerotte combo against a tougher schedule), but that he might be...
Battles of Mankto: Vikings Training Camp 2009
With time winding down until the beginning of Vikings training camp August 1st at Minnesota State in Mankato, now would seem to be the perfect time to take a look at the position battles that will be resolved heading in camp.

The team has locked up a solid core of a run dominated offense with All-Star Adrian...
Still some business to finish
Now that Pro Bowl cornerback Antoine Winfield has signed his five-year contract extension, the Vikings still have some business left before training camp starts, besides wait for you know who’s decision.
The team’s top two draft picks — wide receiver Percy Harvin and right tackle Phil Loadholt — are still unsigned entering the weekend. There are [...]

The Minnesota Vikings are still waiting for word from quarterback Brett Favre with training camp starting in less than a week. Favre's agent, Bus Cook, was asked if a decision was coming Friday. Cook answered with a single word text-message to the AP: 'Nope.'
