Can't say I'm sad to see Kwame Harris go; he contributed little other than offside penalties. Griffith was an asset on kickoff returns but with Branch healthy, I guess he's expendable. If Al really wants to save against the cap let's get to cutting the fat at WR already!

Raiders take two steps forward, one back
While Al Davis and the Oakland Raiders have come under intense scrutiny in recent years, things looked to have taken a turn for the better in the Bay Area. However, after locking up two of their key players, the Raiders suffered yet another blunder with the release of a significant contributor. Cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha's three-year, $45 million contract is considered inflated...
Al Davis got it right. What, you're amazed
(02-21) 18:39 PST -- The cynic - and you know who you are, pal - would say Al Davis did the bare minimum he could do in signing Nnamdi Asomugha to a three-year deal.
Had Davis franchised Asomugha, as many thought he would do, the Raiders would have sunk completely into the Black Hole. If you turn your best player and most-solid citizen into a disgruntled prisoner, while giving...

Oren O'Neal must be feeling better.
That's the best way to explain the Raiders decision to release fullback Justin Griffith. It's another nod to the Raiders commitment to developing its young players.

Former coach Lane...

How far will Davis take purge?
Al Davis has seldom admitted to errors in judgement, but his actions of late suggest a man who has decided not to cling to some of his worst ideas. When the Raiders cut Gibril Wilson Friday, it couldn't have made Javon Walker, Tommy Kelly, Terdell Sands or Michael Huff feel very good bout their job security. Wilson may not have been the impact player the Raiders had hoped, and...
