Bear Essentials:
Robbie Gould has become so incredibly accurate that it’s almost a shock when he misses a field goal.
Gould’s missed 53-yarder Sunday at Seattle snapped a streak of 14 straight successful kicks, dating back to Nov. 9, 2008, when he had a 48-yard attempt blocked. Gould converted 26 of 29 FG attempts last season, but 2 of his 3 “misses” were blocked. Before Sunday, the last time Gould actually got a kick past the line of scrimmage that didn’t go through the uprights was more than a year ago, on Sept. 21, 2008.
Since last season, Gould is 19-for-19 on FG attempts under 40 yards and 77-for-81 from inside the 40 in his five-year NFL career.
Despite Sunday’s miss, Gould is still the third-most-accurate kicker in NFL history at 85.7 percent (114 of 133).

Bears Recap: Week 3
The Bears added another win this week with a 25-19 victory over the embattled Seahawks. Seattle was without the help of seven starters including Matt Hasselbeck, but Seneca Wallace looked fairly impressive in his absence. The Bears added to their own injuries woes when Hunter Hillenmeyer had to leave with an injury to his ribs. No updates on him yet but I wouldn't be surprised if...
