Found October 01, 2009 on The Jets Blog:
After yet another win mustered by a combination of the Jets offense, defense and special teams, Rex Ryan is looking to go down to Naw’leans and deal the Saints their first loss of the season but with a high octane offense featuring Drew Brees and the Running Backs, the Jets will certainly have their hands full defensively and might need to put the spotlight a little more on Sanchez and the receivers to make the throws and catches. Can they do it? Will they do it? Well they have come this far and win or lose Ryan ain’t going down with out a fight. Speaking of which, Ryan has another message set up but he kind of didn’t have time to update it but I believe it still applies here though the music could use some more oomph to it… Quarterback: Alright, so Sanchez tried to impress us all with his feet and his helmet-hitting abilities. Congratulations Mark, I was impressed however if you ever do that again you’ll no doubt get reamed out for such a stupid yet ...

Brees: Bring on the blitz

NEW ORLEANS — Drew Brees will be wearing pink cleats as part of a breast cancer awareness campaign and matching wits Sunday with the Jets’ marauding, pressure defense in a game that figures to be a cerebral game of high-stakes chess. But the Saints q...

Myers: Jets must take air out of Brees

If the Jets can't bounce Drew Brees around Sunday in the Superdome like they did to Tom Brady at the Meadowlands a couple of weeks ago, then Brees is going to light them up.

The talk on Bourbon Street

Greetings from the Big Easy. Arrived today on a flight filled with Jets fans (no shock there), but I was surprised by the lack of optimism among the green-clad faithful. From listening to the chatter on the plane, the feel I get is this: We're thrilled to be 3-0, this is a house-money game, let's have fun on Bourbon Street and we'll get serious next week for the Dolphins...

Offsides: Saints and Jets Match Strengths

The Saints have the top-ranked offense in the NFL and are second overall in rushing; they have actually rushed (102) more than they have passed (97). The Jets are third overall in defense and fifth in pass defense. Partly because of their aggressive 3-4 scheme, the Jets blitz 62.60% of the time, and in their win against the Patriots, hit Tom Brady seven times. But in a win against...

Payton says it's tough to prepare for Jets 'D'

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. - Sean Payton is one of the best offensive play-callers in the league, a coach who loves to exploit matchups. The Jets' third-ranked defense hasn't shown many holes, though, and hasn't been dissected much. So getting a game plan together has been a bit of a chore for the Saints coach and former Giants offensive coordinator. "They give you a...

New York Jets Run Defense vs. New Orleans Saints Run OffenseNew York Jets Run Defense vs. New Orleans Saints Run Offense

More photos raquo; by Mike Groll - AP Browse more photos raquo; Drew Brees and the passing game get most of the hype, but the Saints are surprisingly balanced in their play calling. They run it about as often as they throw it. They also run it really well, a 5 yard clip per carry. Former Bronco Mike Bell has been hitting his holes hard, running at a 5.1 yards...

by Alex TOP 5 GAMES OF THE WEEK • The Saints high powered offense hosts the surprisingly undefeated New York Jets.  The Jets defense has been extremely tough this season, allowing 11 points per game.  We saw how Darrelle Revis stifled Randy Moss.  Can he do it against Drew Brees and Marques Colston?  [...]

New Orleans Columnist Pulls A Buzz Bissinger

In an attempt to rile up Saints fans and find an angle on a column for a game that needs no angle, Times-Picayune columnist Chris Rose has taken offense with everything New York. There’s a lot to break down here, so I’ll take it one by one. First, the “prognosticators”. You could see it coming a mile away: Now that the Saints are 3-0, the cocksure prognosticators...
