Wow. I had no idea the Vikings put themselves in this situation when they passed on Brady Quinn and took "All Day" Adrian Peterson. Here are your competitors: -Tavaris "Stonewall" Jackson -Brooks Bollinger -Tyler Thigpen (I thought he played baseball) -Drew Henson Where is Brad Johnson when you need him? Daunte is available!

  • We really cant argue with taking the injury prone RB can we?
  • Any of these guys will make Rex Grossman look like Joe Montana.
  • Grossman reminds me of a young Bret Farve. But of course, Farve didn't have the media breathing down his neck in his formative years.
  • I would be nervous having any of these guys as a second stringer, let alone starter. Unless Jackson turns into something special or Henson turns into the QB he was supposed to be before baseball.
  • People forget that Daunte started his 2nd year and took the Vikings to the NFC Championship game.

I'm not expecting similar results with Jackson (considering the receiving core), but just because he is a young quarterback doesn't mean he will be a dud. I think if Peterson/Taylor get 15 carries each a game and sets up the playaction for Jackson to roll out into the pocket, he will be effective.
  • you also forget that he had two HOF caliber WRs, Robert Smith (fucking amazing), and an offensive line with 4 pro bowlers; a savvy veteran defense, good kickers... all of that is gone now.
