Or disaster.Whatever is going on out at Redskins Park, we are not seeing the full, unaltered picture. The team is on the brink, teetering in either direction. The Redskins are on the verge of great success. Or not.Telltale signs:Two of the most admired players on offense, Clinton Portis and Mike Sellers, get in a shouting match--with each other. On Monday. Because of Clinton tried to have Mike removed from the Lions game the week before.Sherm Lewis, a distinguished retired coach, was retained to consult with the team by looking over the offense, players and coaches, under circumstances sure to make for a failed effort. If nothing else, Lewis is sure to be called Coach Bingo as he is assuredly asked to look at the wrong part of the organization.Defensive coordinator Greg Blache challenges Comcast sports analyst Trevor Matich on the post game show following the loss to the Lions. Matich's October 8 In The Trenches story appears on redskins.com. Blache is excused from making media questions for the rest of the season. If those points are not related, they are at least suspicious. So, are the Skins on the verge of falling out? It doesn't look good, but take a chill pill and remember one thing about the Redskins. These are the guys who spit in the face of death and made a run to the 2007 playoffs. Same players. Same owners. Mostly the same coaches. Same fans. Daniel Snyder never showed better leadership than he did then. He did it by rising up and sheltering the team in the face of crisis. He did it for the team. The team responded. Just now the team faces a little adversity. And it's a little adversity. Most pundits expected the Redskins to finish around 8-8. Hog Heaven's Greg Trippiedi projected 11-5, but most others forecast 9-7. At 2-2, the Redskins are achieving what was expected. So lets have the leader do something public to show faith in the team and confidence in the personnel purely for the sake of the team. If Daniel Snyder can find the backbone to publicly support the team, instead of second guessing them, the team will take a step towards greatness. Then, we will all feel better.

Portis and Sellers Fought Over Yoder?

A few 140 characters-or-less reactions to the report that Clinton Portis and Mike Sellers had a run-in after Portis called for Yoder to replace Sellers in Sunday’s Bucs game: This happened after Portie’s best game of the season, a game they won. No mention is made of the fact that Sellers was wearing 30-year-old pads on Sunday. If [...]

Coach Zorn Discusses The Portis/Sellers Incident

It seems that there was some sort of incident -- a "heated argument," per the Washington Times -- between the Redskins Pro Bowl running backs Monday night. Rumors have Clinton Portis questioning Mike Sellers's abilities as a blocker, but no details have been confirmed. Neither Portis nor Sellers spoke after practice, but Head Coach Jim Zorn addressed the situation...

Clinton Portis Is Somewhat Upset With His Blocking

Despite the fact that the Redskins last Sunday avoided a loss to the Buccaneers that would have almost certainly led to a complete dismantling of the team, things are far from rosy at Redskins Park. Earlier this week, Sherman Lewis was brought in as an offensive consultant, despite no one, especially head coach Jim Zorn, knowing exactly what his role would be in running the offense...

Redskins' Portis, Sellers in heated verbal exchange

Washington Redskins coach Jim Zorn confirmed Friday that running backs Clinton Portis and Mike Sellers had a verbal confrontation this week.

Portis' contract virtually ensures his return in 2010

With the performance of Redskins running back Clinton Portis moving toward "just a guy" territory and his involvement in various squabbles and pissing matches quickly becoming tiresome, many will begin to speculate that Portis won't be back with the Redskins...

HogWire: Another Set of Eyes?

Dan Snyder and Vinny Cerrato have made an unforeseen move by bringing in offensive consultant Sherman Lewis to provide another set of eyes. Running back Clinton Portis and fullback Mike Sellers had to be separated and restrained, although no punches were thrown. The argument stemmed from Portis' request to have blocking tight end Todd Yoder replace Sellers in the backfield against...

Delhomme’s Late Bootleg Helps Panthers Get First Win, Edge Redskins 20-17

Both the Washington Redskins and Carolina Panthers have a lot of things in common. Both have coaches who whether they want to admit it or not are on their collective hot seats. Both teams aren’t exactly offensive powerhouses. And both teams have star running backs in Clinton Portis and DeAngelo Williams. So one would think [...]

Clinton Portis is the heart and soul of the the Redskins

I can't stand what I'm hearing on the Radio and what I've been reading on ES and profootballtalk.com. Mike Florio must have a problem with CP bcuz half of his website content mentions Portis today. The Facts: CP has had over 1200 yds in each of his seasons for the skins. (minus injury year)...
