FBKid's Sports Minute:
PLAYERS:
Derek Landri,
Maurice Jones,
John Henderson,
Ben Roethlisberger
TEAMS: Pittsburgh Steelers, Jacksonville Jaguars
TEAMS: Pittsburgh Steelers, Jacksonville Jaguars
After the game when people are discussing what player was the most valuable player in the Jaguars Steelers game most people would pick the obvious and go with Maurice Jones-Drew. Don't get me wrong Jones-Drew had a great game but the real MVP was his former high school teammate. Derek Landri coming into the game was a 4th round pick out of Notre Dame and had 11 tackles in his first season and played with Jones-Drew at De La Salle in California. But when John Henderson went down in the games first series Landri came in and decided to shine. Landri brought lots of energy to the Jags front 7. He only had 1 tackle which was a sack but his impact was much bigger than that. Late in the 2nd quarter Landri read a screen and picked off a Ben Roethlisberger pass to stop a Pittsburgh scoring drive. But most importantly Landri recovered a Roethlisberger fumble with 29 seconds to seel the victory for the Jaguars. This could be the best game of Landri's career or the start of something bi...

Super Bowl trivia and "Mac Blast"
A few good rules of thumb: 1) If you ask an athlete a trivia question about the Super Bowl, and they don't know the answer, it's a safe bet that "Tom Brady" will be their guess. 2) It's also a safe bet that Ben Roethlisberger's name will be mispronounced. 3) "NFL punter" is synonymous with anonymous. - Dewey PS: We're still not sure what "...

Ben X-Ray Rumor Gives Us Something Else to Worry About
ProFootballTalk got the ball rolling this morning on a rumor about Ben Roethlisberger getting a furtive X-Ray on his ribs yesterday. When asked by Gregg Rosenthal of NBCSports, Roethlisberger issued a fishy sounding non-denial about it.My guess is that it's likely a precautionary thing. If any play caused a problem with his ribs, it was the latest of the cheap shots the Ravens...
MoJo Lights Up NFL's Biggest Douche
I've had a problem with Shawne Merriman since hearing him giddily brag about injuring Priest Holmes. I was obviously delighted when 5-7 Maurice Jones-Drew truck sticked him yesterday.
Time to Talk Ben and Hines
It has to be talked about. I can't ignore it any more. Of course, I'm referring to the grand debate of who's wrong: Hines Ward or Ben Roethlisberger. And my verdict is in: they're both guilty. We'll start with Hines Ward, or as Mr. Madden, Super Genius calls him, Whines Hard. Hines was a college quart...
12-Year-Old QB Sills Is Ready For College Offers
Steve Clarkson is known as a quarterback king maker. He started the hype machine that led to Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen being called ?one of the greatest high school recruits ever?. He helped launch the careers of Ben Roethlisberger, Matt Leinart, J.P. Losman (maybe not such an ...
NoLogoNeeded NFL Mock Draft Pick 8
Pick eight is now on its way…
With the eighth pick, the Jacksonville Jaguars select:
***B.J. Raji, DT, Boston College***
According to DraftCountdown.com:
The Jags still haven’t adequately replaced Marcus Stroud so B.J. Raji could be an intriguing option at defensive tackle alongside John Henderson.
The Green Bay Packers are on the clock.
Yes, PackerLand, we are now on the clock.
Bruins in the NFL: Week 11
Maurice Jones-Drew (RB, Jacksonville) was Mr. Everything, again, with 66 yards and 2 touchdowns on 17 carries, plus 27 yards on 3 receptions. It wasn't enough, though, as the Jags fell to Tennessee, 24-14.Source: Los Angeles Times Submitted By: hiltigger Direct Link

We've got the dirt on Santonio Holmes!
Yardbarker was at the Steelers media session yesterday to talk to the team. First there was a press conference where Coach Tomlin and Ben Roethlisberger spoke to a pretty large crowd of media. But of course you know Yardbarker wasn't too interested in that boring press conference stuff! So we got to work when the rest of the players became available. Santonio Holmes, our star...
Jaguars Blow Halftime Lead, Playoff Hopes Dim
Between now and the end of the regular season you will hear a lot of theories about what happened to the Jaguars this year.
After a 24-14 loss to Tennessee yesterday at the Stadium, there will be fingers pointed at the front office, the coaching staff, individual players, injuriesa??hey, some might even blame the media. But at least one thing is clear. In the Jaguars' final...
AP Batting .667 in Awards
I'm not going to say Vince Young had a bad year, because he didn't. But did he have a rookie of the year type year? Absolutely not. The Titans may have pieced together a better season than anyone expected, but statistically, Vince Young didn't. The rookie campaign of Maurice Jones-Drew warranted the rookie of the year award, and he was screwed out of it.
