Found July 22, 2008 on Chiefs Gab:
Alphonso Boone DE: The Chiefs are really trying to fit a square peg in a round hole with this one. Boone does not look like a DE or a hybrid DE/DT. He does not play like a DE. I don't think he has even played the position. Once two a days start and upper 90 degree heat is pouring down in River Falls Boone will struggle to keep containment on his side of the field and running backs will simply run away from him. But it's not his fault he is after all a DT. By the time the season starts Boone will be back at DT and the Chiefs won't be eager to bring this experimentation up again. Adrian Jones RG: This one really slid through cracks. He was announced the starter and no one seemed to notice. What has he ever accomplished? He was cut by the Jets and they don't have a great line. The Chiefs knew they were going with Rudy Niswanger at center and he has zero experience. With all their money they have under the cap they should have signed a solid upper level free agent guard. Instead they signed Herm's boy that he drafted when he was in NY. Jones has never displayed starter potential and if they don't find his replacement in camp. It will be the weak link of the offense dragging it down. Conner Barth K: This one has d?j? vu written all over it. The Chiefs going into camp with a rookie kicker just assuming he will make field goals and every thing will work out. Rookie kickers struggle unless their name is Mason Crosby or they are really a Australian rules football player. Barth put up nice numbers in college but so did Justin Medlock. Herm likes field goals, he likes to kick field goals, he like to watch them go thru the uprights. He like everything about them. The Chiefs historically like to kick field goals dating back to the Marty Ball days. If we would have signed Jason Elam this would be a non issue.

Baker Hurt?!?! Will Jets Forfeit Season?

The better question may be will anyone even notice he's out? New York Jets alleged tight end Chris Baker apparently hurt his back and the Jets were forced to put him on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list. Speculation arose that it was to punish Baker for a being a schnook and having severe delusions of granduer. Maybe so but I have to agree with Bob Bullock of the Jetsream...

ESPN's Chadiha On Potential Dorsey-Peterson Contract Battle

Brace yourselves, Chiefs fans, you're not going to like this. From ESPN: Jeffri Chadiha: Last year, No. 1 pick JaMarcus Russell staged a lengthy holdout and never was a factor during the season. Which rookie is most likely to fill that role in 2008? Kansas City defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey. This one ...

Brodie Croyle Will Succeed in 08′

I don?t understand the logic behind all the Brodie haters out there. Brodie really has not played enough for anyone to say he will or won?t make it in the NFL. Yet in the sports media markets across the country it is generally assumed Croyle will struggle. The Chiefs may struggle in 08 but I see Croyle putting it together this season. Through out his career he has won every where...

Chiefs Sign Flowers to Four-Year Deal

The young Chiefs made a move today, signing 35th overall pick in April's Draft, cornerback Brandon Flowers. The CB comes to the team after leaving Virginia Tech after his second-straight All-American season. He had five interceptions last season as a junior. The Chiefs seem to be on a good pace to get most if not all their picks in camp by the start of camp Thursday, as they...

A.A.D.Q.: L.J. By Ground Or D-Bo By Air?

Today's question comes from a recent comment thread, compliments of reader Centaur27 (ahem -- it's Iron Man): General Chiefs question to debate… Which number will be greater at the end of the season: LJ rushing yards or D Bowe receiving yards? Beautiful question. My knee-jerk reaction was that Larry Johnson better easily have ...

Stray Arrows: Embryonic Hater

Zach e-mailed me this post -- "I'm Not Even A Fetus Yet, But I Already Hate The Kansas City Chiefs" -- a little while ago from Kissing Suzy Kolber. Sometimes I like their stuff, occassionally even laughing out loud. Other times, I'm not as big of a fan. Ocassionally, I ...

Music To My Earsa??Well, Kinda

From the Kansas City Star: Peterson said the Chiefs are exploring selling naming rights to the new Arrowhead, which would bring in revenue, but he said Arrowhead would still be incorporated in any new name. I'd rather King Carl and Co. just leave the name as Arrowhead Stadium, but if the Chiefs ...

Jets Smokescreen on Favre

Are they or aren't they? Will they or won't they? Are the Jets talking about Brett Favre in secret inner circle meetings and will they pull the trigger on the boldest move in franchise history on the eve of the season opening? All of a sudden the Jets are popping up more and more in rumors regarding Brett Favre and it is always accompanied by the front office speak of "...

Saints Nab Fallen Kings of New York

Jonathan Vilma and Jeremy Shockey have a ton in common besides both being traded to the Saints this offseason. Both were drafted out of the University of Miami. Both were drafted by teams in New York in the first round (Shockey in 2002 by the Giants, Vilma in 2004 by the Jets). Both made immediate [...]

Raiders Sign Former Chiefs Safety Wesley

It's always nice when you can pick up another team's discarded player. It's especially nice when he comes from one of your fiercest rivals. According to ESPN's Bill Williamson, the  Raiders have signed former Chiefs safety Greg Wesley to a one-year contract. Signed for a modest 730-thousand dollars, Wesley is expected to compete for the backup [...]

Their top selection was at number 43 overall was Tyrell Johnson, who played safety at Arkansas State. ...
