One For the Other Thumb:
Per the Mike Tomlin Press conference, Fast Willie has a case of the infamous "turf toe." Has anyone ever explained this injury or how it is caused? Willie looked more than fine on Sunday, even in the final stages of the game (and by "final stages" we mean before the 6 minute mark when the Steelers had the ball). If anyone has suffered from or known someone who has suffered from turf toe, please enlighten us. In the meantime, let's do some research-Turf toe:An injury to the big toe due to forced hyperextension (upward bending back) of the toe. The damage is to the capsule of the joint (the first metatarsophalangeal joint) and the ligaments that connect the big toe to the foot [Medicine.Net]While reading further we found that if most NFL players take out their tampons, this injury heals faster. Honestly, this is not something to be worried about as Coach Tomlin even said Willie should be fine to practice most of the week. However, if things go south and Willie ...

Sweed May Sit the Bench After Latest Blunder in Cincy
A lot of fans (even here on Steelers Gab) are still fuming at the latest drop of WR Limas Sweed, a sure touchdown Sunday that for sure would have put the game away. The ball was right in his hands, and Mike Tomlin was peeved as well with the drop. Now it looks [...]
Steelers' Tomlin might bench Sweed after drops
PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Steelers receiver Limas Sweed may have dropped his way onto the bench.
And So Begins the Shaun McDonald Era
I don't think this signals the end of Limas' career (that has yet to get off the ground), but I'm fine with Tomlin giving him the Mendenhall treatment for a few weeks. Worst case: the Jedi mind tricks don't take and we have another Lee Mays on our hands. Best case: Limas gets over it, and starts regularly catching the ball.
Lack of execution killing Steelers
The Steelers are 1-2. The sky is falling.
Blame has been widespread. People are already wanting to make widespread changes. I've read lots of theories why the Steelers aren't winning football games. Lots of people know how to fix this team:
Fire Mike Tomlin. Fire Bruce Arians. Bench Limas Sweed. Bench Willie Parker. Abandon the running game. Use a fullback every down. Blitz...

Did the Steelers Just Lose to the Bungles? Why Yes They Did
The Steelers are finding new and ever frustrating ways to lose football games. This one against Cincinnati was one they should have won running away, but between agonizing interceptions, dropped surefire touchdowns and key drives by the opposition where the defense can't close the deal, it turned into a second straight gutpunch to Steelers fans. Now the season is following an...
Steelers Reserves: Tomlin Would Rather Have the Beer
Unlike the the malt liquor that closely resembles their name, some reserves on the Pittsburgh Steelers are feeling the heat from head coach Mike Tomlin.
Delicious.

Steelers-Benglas: Observations of Another Wasted Opportunity by the Steelers
The Steelers lost to the Cincinnati Bengals today, simultaneously giving an upstart team much needed momentum and drawing more questions from a traditional powerhouse. For first time since December 2001, the Steelers lost a game that they held a lead of at least 11 points (that December 2001 loss was also to the Bengals, 26-23 in overtime).
The Steelers have more questions than answers...
