Vikings enforce Brown-out
Now that's how you start a season.Adrian Peterson had a great day, with a highlight-reel 64-yard run to put the effective nail in the coffin, and the defense stuffed the Browns' offense until a late, garbage-time TD. The quarterbacking and special teams? Well, that's another matter. But first the good.Adrian Peterson. What more is there to say? Even if you want to stick...
Vikings, Childress Improving
In the 2007 NFL Entry Draft, the Minnesota Vikings had the glorious fortune of having Oklahoma running back Adrian Peterson fall to them with the seventh overall pick. To their credit, the Vikings took Peterson, thus cementing offensive opportunity for what should be the next several years. One year before selecting Peterson, the Vikings made a change in coaches, going from the understaffed...
Adrian says his 64-yard classic was his best ever
We decided after trying to figure out whether the 64-yard touchdown run from Vikings tailback Adrian Peterson reminded us of Jim Brown, Earl Campbell, Eric Dickerson, or some combination thereof that it reminded us of one man: Adrian Peterson. And with...
Trailing Clouds of Heaven: Vikings 34, Browns 20
Vikings-Browns Box Score (ESPN)Sure, we sweated out the first half. Then in the second half, the Vikings did what they should do: completely stop a bad Browns offense, dominate a bad Browns defense by running, complete some important passes in key situations, and outscore their road opponent 24-7.There's work to do: the pass protection was sketchy at best, the punt coverage...

As a nutty first week of NFL football draws to a close with a couple of fantastic Monday Nighters, we too can close the books on an eventful first week of the Inaugural 700 Level Fantasy Football League. Congratulations first and foremost to team Findum Pluckum and Flee, who rode beastly performances by Vikings running back Adrian Peterson and our very own Eagles Defense (funny how...
Favre throws first touchdown
The Vikings offense just put together a very nice drive.
Brett Favre completed all four of his passes for 43 yards, including a six-yard touchdown to rookie Percy Harvin. The key to the drive, though, was Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor, who pounded the ball eight times for 47 yards. Peterson had the longest run, a 19-yarder, but Taylor also had an eight-yard run.

Doyel: A boring Favre equals wins for Minnesota
The Vikings are Adrian Peterson's team. This version of Brett Favre knows that and doesn't need to overachieve for Minnesota to win. Get the ball into the hands of your weapons Brett and watch the wins roll in, Gregg Doyel says.
Meet The New Cleveland Browns; Same As The Old Ones.
We just got fooled again.
For 30 minutes of football, the Browns, in the words of former head coach Butch Davis, played their guts out.
While the offense continued to lack the competency it has not consistently shown since the days of Lindy Infante, the D was actually (gasp) pressuring the quarterback, keeping All-Pro Adrian Peterson in check, and thanks to Browns MYP Josh Cribbs...
A debut for the ageless as Favre leads Vikings
VIKINGS 34, BROWNS 20: Brett Favre's debut with Minnesota went well - both throwing the ball and handing off to Adrian Peterson. The ageless quarterback threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to rookie Percy Harvin in his first game with the Vikings, and Peterson scored three touchdowns in a win over host Cleveland on Sunday. Making his 270th consecutive start after a will-he-or-won&...
