Trent Green threw a low block on Travis Jackson and ended up earning his second brutal concussion in the last year. What makes this hilarious is Travis Jackson hovers over the Trent's unconscious body and begins screaming at his lifeless carcass.

It is, when you couple the fact that Trent threw a dirty block with the notion that Jackson didn't know he was unconscious.

    I LOL'ed many many times.

  • That could have been Johnson's season ending knee injury or worse his career. I hope Green is okay, but "God don't like ugly." You can't blame Johnson for being angry. Green did it to himself.
  • Sportaphile: Who is Jackson?
Green is a QB, I don't think he works on blocking a lot. He was probably blocking the only way he could think of at that moment. It wasn't that low of a block at intial contact with Johnson, except that Johnson went up high. I am a Steeler fan in Pittsburgh, but I think Johnson and Sportaphile are idiots.

"Green is a QB, I don't think he works on blocking a lot."

Doesn't matter. It was a cheap shot, plain and simple.

If the block Green landed on Johnson would have ended his season or career, "I'm a quarterback and I'm not that good of a blocker" wouldn't have meant a damned thing in the long run. I thought Johnson screaming at green while he was unconscious was a little over the top, but It was funny to me.

Johnson had every right to be irate, he was lucky he didn't suffer a major injury by the way he was hit. Do you know how many rules there are to protect defenseless quarterbacks? If someone hit green like that they would be fined. Give me a break...

I agree with you. Johnson has every right to be upset with Green.

If someone hit Green like that, they'd definitely be fined and maybe even suspended for a game.
  • VERY MUCH AGREED... Green put a dirty hit down that backfired. I don't think anyone wants a player to receive a career-threatening injury but Green put himself in harms way and could have severely hurt another player by his ignorance.
Taunting is never a good idea, Johnson should have saved his opinions until after the game, but now his credibility is lacking because of is immature actions on the field.

I'm not sure what Johnson did qualifies as "taunting."

Taunting is gloating after you've schooled someone; Trent Green schooled himself.

    Trent Green is an idiot.
  • I'd be interested to find out exactly what Johnson said to Green. I also think that he wasn't "taunting" him because he was unconscious, more that they had a 20 yard loss on that run. They snapped the ball on the 33 and when it was all said and done, with all the looping back, dodging, and such, they finished on the 53. I'd gloat too.

Well, this all brings up the question why Trent Green is playing anyway. He had to have a baseline scan at the beginning of the season after his LAST concussion, he is going to need another one to get cleared to play again, he is what? 37? Time to take that nice personality and pretty face to Fox or CBS before he ends up like Muhammad Ali.
And while it may have been a cheap shot, I agree that blocking probably isn't his primary goal while training, and taunting ANYONE down makes the taunter look just plain ugly, too.

Well according to Peter King's MMQB this hit was NOT illegal.

I'm surprised Peter King had time to address the issue. Usually it seems all he talks about is coffee, hotels and his daughter's soccer team or whatever.

Seriously, though, I'm surprised that is not an illegal hit. Assuming P.K. is right.

I don't think it was illegal. There's a difference between taking a hit at the knees when in action versus standing in the pocket. People confuse that with chop blocks, but they're different. A chop block happens when a player is already engaged with another player. That wasn't the case here.
  • Trent Green is as classy an individual and sportsman as they come. He gave up 100 lbs. to Johnson and did what classy players do, make the play however they can legally. It was legal. Would Johnson have picked Ginn up and laid him oh-so-gently to the turf if he'd been given the opportunity? No. He would have leveled him. But he didn't because Trent did his job. Johnson was classless and hypocritical.
  • Sportech
Well it may have not been illegal but it def was dirty. First reaction by Travis Johnson is human. He doesn't know TG is out cold. He is reacting to the hit on his knee. His postgame comments were a bit overboard though and uncalled for.
  • Does Johnson speak english? I couldn't understand one word he said during the post game interview.
  • Travis Johnson is nothing but a piece of shit thug! A guy is laying unconcious and you see him no moving at all yet you still taunt him? Hey maybe you and Vick bring some pitbulls to a old folks home, make a bet with someone who does not respond to anything, and taunt the guy or get mad at him when you win or lose! Travis Johnson you are what is wrong with this world today and I hope he blows his knee out and then all the medical staff taunts him!
  • Sadly football players too often or crazy or stupid or both. What F@@#$^** was trent throwing a diving head first block on a bad play call for the 0-13 (or what ever) dolphins! I can't figure it, just like guys constantly hitting people out of bounds, trying to turn guys ankles after they are tackled etc. If you want to see a really cheap hit watch Trent's cuncussion from last year (the elbow to the heat halfway into a slide when everyone else had plenty of time to pull up.
  • Travis did a cartwheel....I just can't stop laughing when I see the video...
