Some fans have expressed concern about kicker Adam Vinatieri and questioned if the 36-year-old kicker is getting up there in years after his 32-yard miss off the left upright on Sunday. He also had a kick bank in off the left upright at Miami.
While it would be an easy rationalization to say Vinatieri is dealing with a rookie holder in Pat McAfee and it takes some experience to get their timing down, I like that Vinatieri was a team player when he discussed his situation on Thursday.
"Doing it as long as I've done it, I need to make sure that I've got all my ducks in a row. I'll totally take that one," he said of the recent miss. "I don't care. It's a 32-yard field goal. I've got to make those every time."
He had nothing but praise for McAfee and long snapper Justin Snow.
