Could veteran free agent running back Warrick Dunn be on his way to the Windy City? Would he be a good fit with the Bears? Well lets take a look at what the Bears have right now behind Matt Forte. The Bears recently lost backup running back Kevin Jones for the season with an ankle injury in their final preseason game against the Cleveland Browns. The Bears currently have two year pro Garrett Wolfe, who is 5?7? and has 154 career rushing yards behind Matt Forte on the depth chart. They also have "The Other" Adrian Peterson, who has played in 92 games, rushing 304 times for 1232 yards for a 4.1 ypc average and eight touchdowns. His biggest season was in 2007, when he carried the ball 151 times for 510 yards and three touchdowns and he also had 51 receptions for 420 yards. Are those two enough? I don't know, but I'm a big fan of "The Other" Adrian Peterson, I think he's an underrated running back, who is very good at catching the ball out of the backfiel...

Chicago Bears Season Preview – 2nd Quarter

When the schedule first came out, I took some grief from some of my die-hard readers, saying that I flaked out on my 2009 season prediction. Maybe I had overdosed on Jay CutlerKool Aide with my tongue in cheek 16-0 prediction for the season. I promised that I would take a real look at the schedule and offer real prognosis for the season. Since Lovie Smith breaks the season down...

You might be a Packers fan if…

Got this off the Chicago Bears message board: YOU MIGHT BE A PACKER FAN IF… The Halloween pumpkin on your front porch has more teeth than your spouse. You let your twelve-year-old daughter smoke at the dinner table in front of her kids. Last year you hid Easter eggs under cow pies. You’ve been married three times and still have the same [...]

Hiding behind humor

Although Charles Tillman failed to divulge any new information about his status for this weekend, his post-practice meeting with the media was classic. "I think chances are slim to none," said Tillman when asked how he felt. "I think I'm done for the season, I probably won't ever play a snap of football again. Did Eric Mangini name the starting quarterback...

Halas Hall Chat: DE Alex Brown

The theme for the Chicago Bears on defense in '09 is added pressure up front, and Alex Brown is one of the players expected to make that happen. Never a double-digit sack guy, is he capable of a breakout season? Brown spent some time with Bear Report before practice Thursday at Halas Hall.

53-Man Roster Analysis: Offense

Lovie Smith had to transform into "The Turk" when trimming his roster down to 53 players from 75, but all indications suggest that the Chicago Bears are a better football team than they were at this time last year. Bear Report takes a closer look at the offense, which is a bit different with only two QBs.

Matt Forté: The Best Thing Since Sweetness

The Bears trade for Jay Cutler has made this year the most anticipated season in the organization's recent history. Although having a top quarterback under center will make a big difference in the Bears' passing game, much of the team's success this year will fall upon the shoulders of second year running back Matt Forté. The 24-year-old from Slidell...

Bears-Packers Week One

The Bears kick off the 2009 Campaign against the Green Bay Packers under the Sunday night lights. Last year, the Packers struggled to close games, and while it’s unfair to put the blame solely on quarterback Aaron Rodgers, his play certainly didn’t help the situation. Rodgers has looked very impressive in the preseason and comes into this season healthy. He’s got a big arm...

Packers-Bears: Getting Together With Old Friends

After all of the games are played Sunday afternoon, there will be one remaining—and it's the oldest rivalry in the NFL. The Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears will meet for the 178th time Sunday night at Lambeau Field. It will also be the 21st time the two teams have met in the season opener. The storied teams split last year's series, with the Packers routing the...
