I have been pretty vocal on other blogs about how I thought Eagles fans were way off base in their love for Jackson. I saw statements saying he was going to be the best reviever in the league within the year, the top rookie from this years class, a future hall of famer and on and on and on. I got ripped by Eagles faithful for saying while I thought Jackson was going to be a good player in the future I thought he would only be a decent player this year. Last week against the Rams, Jackson had ...

  • Let's just let him play football and stop arguing about whether or not he's going to be a superstar or a bust before he's even finished 1 year in the league.

i agree.. im an eagles fan and ya the kid looks good but he's not the best receiver in the league and nowhere close
he hopefully will have a decent year and help this team succeed thats all we can ask
  • DeSean Jackson Has Done So Many Things That I Thought He Would Not Do And He Proved Me Wrong. This Guy Is Amazing And Does So Many Things And I Expect Him To Be The Best Rookie Wide Receiver Out There.

Hes no HOF, ROY, or best in the league....YET> He's played one game. Us Philly fans get a little hype esp over a receiver....But give him some time. I mean Eddie Royal is being heralded as a great player and he barley did any better than Desean, not even including deseans PR yards. Give the kid some time. HE'll never get the credit he's do even if he earns it bc he plays for Philly. Who cares. We'll know what we got...I got a veryyy strong feeling your going to be getting A LOT more " I told you so's".....

i like desean, but they played the rams. tonight will be a test. if he can have a good game tonight then he could be the real deal, but 2 games dont mean much.

Jeesh!, the kid is a rookie and still has a huge amount to learn about the professional game. Give him a chance to grow up for pities sake. He has lots of potential but it will be this time next year before we know just where he stands in the scale of things. He is quick and fast but he is small. We don't know how he is going to stand up to the pounding a wide receiver takes. Fortunately, there are five decent receivers that can share the load and that looked pretty good last week. I'd love to see another of Baskett's patented 80 yard plus TDs. Now if they can hammer the Dallas Donkeys tonight we will know this is going to be a hell of a year for the birds.

finished with good yardage-but i think the cowboys were allergic to defense
  • wubanga101
First off he only had one drop not "a couple". Secondly, to answer you article queation, yes you are wrong. Lastly, 700 yards and 5 TD would be pretty great considering he is a rookie in an offense thats is extremely difficult to learn in such a short period of time.

Well I counted two drops-or at least two times the commentators used the words jackson and drop in the same breath. And I was responding to the posts I have seen saying how he is going to be the end all and be all receiver in the NFL or rookie of the year. Ad 700 yds and 5 tds is neither of those but I guess to understand that you would have had to have read my post AND comprehended it. Next time I will just make a nice picture book for you

        He's a rookie...he's going to make mistakes.
      • wubanga101
You are right about the drops. I forgot about his biggest drop on the first drive to give us first and goal on the 5. I feel that he is going to be a great compliment to recieving corp once Cutis and Brown get back. If Brown can learn how to catch a football again this WR corp could be one of the better corps in the league. I'm excited about how well he has picked up the offense and his production thus far... I still can't stop thinking about the game last night! I hate that when the Eagles lose I can't watch Sports Center for like week because it hurts too much!!

naw your not wrong he made a bone head play but that play didnt matter becasue we scored anyways its when he dropped passes that got you frustrated

I think we should let up on that mistake, it was stupid but didn't lose the game. I don't think he'll do that again! I would have liked to see him get the ball a few more times though.
  • Give him a break he's young he will be great for our team.......The good things he has done have well out weighed the one bumble SO WHAT let it go.......We need to support him he wont make the same mistake.
