Was Marvin Harrison the target of a "hit"?

From PFT: "We were alerted last night to some claims regarding the Marvin Harrison case made by Philly sports anchor Keith Russell during a Monday afternoon radio spot in Miami. Appearing with Jason Jackson on WQAM, Russell said that his sources tell him that the guy who was allegedly shot in the hand after leaving Harrison's bar last Tuesday had come to the establishment to carry out a gangland-style "hit."

A "hit" on Harrison.

Russell said during the segment that the issue relates to Harrison's father, who is (per Russell) incarcerated, and that the supposed "hit" was in retaliation for something Harrison's father supposedly had done. Media sources in Philadelphia tell us that the contention, which Russell apparently hasn't made on the air in his home market, is simply not true. Russell also said that there are "people who are willing to do whatever is necessary" to keep Harrison from facing charges.

This keeps getting weirder and weirder and the fact that he hasn't said this on any Philly station, why not? Scared of Philly fans?

This gets weirder and weirder. You can't say things like this in the media unless you have a very credible source and you are ready for this to go national. I can't imagine that whoever is providing this information wants to be known around the nation as a snitch.

This kind fo story on the internet is one thing but to go on radio and throw this out there?

who said it, do we know? which station? because i can't find a thing & i'm not a real strong profootball talk person, know what i mean ;0 !!! the only thing i was able to find was a blog someone had done, completely ripping this story apart!!!

I think/hope he is trying to get audio of Keith Russell saying it. From what I have read he is some weekend guy there in Philly. He's quite the standup guy to say this stuff on a Miami station and not in Philly.

drop me an email when u know~TY cowboy!!!

Under Pennsylvania law, Harrison can be charged with a misdemeanor if it's proven his gun was used in a shooting, even if someone else pulled the trigger. If Harrison is found to have been involved in any gun-related crime, it could subject him to discipline, including a suspension, by the NFL under its Guns and Weapons Policy or Personal Conduct Policy.

... a five game suspension.

considering they are ALL UP against Lynne Abraham, all i have to say is good luck with this. she will not fool around, she is one tough DA & i for one, am thankful for that.

on a side note, I was watching the news and they were showing some Philly cops beat the crap out of a couple guys. So, not only is the DA tough, but it looks like the cops are a little crazy too!

OOH I am good at conspiracy theories!! Maybe Bill Belichick set him up! Bill must have been worried that the the weakening secondary would be unable to cover the two receivers Harrison and Wayne, whom have always given the Pats trouble..He could have sent someone to Harrison's house, broke in, stole his gun, shot someone in Harrison's club, and THEN dump the gun in a random bucket...Do you think they will use the "if the bucket doesn't fit you must aquit" defense? I would buy that.

wo, that's a good one. seems like something Belichick would do.

I might buy; "If the hoodie does not fit you must aquit"

LOL pink, u r a trip!!!!

Someone should check with Belichick he probably has film on it

The old self -defense story.

Hey ck0712, are you being serious about Lynne Abraham? she's horrible at her job. For all the crime and murders that go on here in philly, and I'm not bashing the police(they can only do what they can). But you know how many people walk? Its almost at an alarming rate. Its plea bargain central down town. Especially if you make above 6 figures. Of course you only hear about the high profile stuff, the AI case, Marv, etc...But trust me when I tell you, she's not all that shiny and clean.

well thanks for letting us know that yeah she's serious and we are well aware of what goes on in philly we live there. we don't make above 6 figures and we don't just hear about the high pro cases either, maybe next time she's up for re election you better vote against her then know what i mean. but this thread ain't about my wife ck0712 or lynne abraham she's mearly letting people know that she thinks she's a tough da.

Chad Johnson ordered the hit, supply and demand makes his trade finally happen

ha that's funny squish059 good one

Well, it could have been Adarius Bowman, Anquan Boldin, or a host of other receivers.

If it was near a strip club the obvious suspect would be Pacman

rumor is Pacman does order shootings....
but maybe it was the Eagles FO, if he is on house arrest.....or probabtion in Philly and cant leave town....he can be on our team now! yay!.

Either way i'm sure the true story will be in Jose Canseco's next book
I still believe the Pats have the whole thing on tape...

Probably, they have cameras everywhere. bwah ha ha.
