        yeah that is helpful. but primetime was a good WR and one of the best ever PR and one of the first shut down corners playing in a league that was very rich in QB and WR depth. He was also listed as #4 or 5 QB on the team in Dallas.

    i wouldn't say a lot of plays, more like a few, and the only eason that happened was cuz Denver's run defense was 30th in the league and was not good at all, so Bailey and Dre had to help with the run and it was almost pass coverage second after run D....now if the D was good, Bailey would have had at least 6 picks......but being a good corner is not all about INT's ....i bet if you go look at the stats, Champ leads in pass deflections and tackles for corners

  champ used to be the number 1 cornerback but cromartie had 1 good year and that still does not make him number one. champ is not the number 1 cornerback anymore. he is good now but asante samuel is better and he is now the number 1 cornerback in the game. you will see this year with the philadelphia eagles and i say 16 interceptions for asante samuel and maybee 5 for champ and 3 for cromartie

    Asante played full time as a starter since 2003 so I'll give you the stats since that year for both players
    
    Champ:389 tackles--------Asante:238 tackles
    Champ:26 INT's---------Asante:22 INT's
    Champ:79 pass deflected-------Asante:79 pass deflected
    Champ:18 INT's when losing------Asante:17 INT's when losing
    
    these show in the same amount of years that Champ has better production at corner than Asante

        id say samuel or cromartie are the best no matter what team they are on....if they keep puttin up the numbers they are i say they are the best...champ is the best in the long run because samuel and cromartie are young and still have alot to prove but champ has proved hes the best and is past his time 3 ints last season

      Corner stats don't tell the whole picture. The tackles could be because the corner didn't cover well enough in the first place. Tackles usually mean you're getting thrown against. A big knock on the Eagles D was that the corners led them in tackles through the first 4 or so games I believe. The INTs can come from a bad pass rush up front. That being said, I still think Champ is the number one corner in the league until he has a really bad season.

  i'm not going to dwell on what wes welker said and make a big stink about it. someone should actually tell wes that he won't get his championship in NE this year. yes they will be good, but teams in the AFC are better. if they meet the Jags in the playoffs, i think the Jags win it this time with Brady getting popped in the mouth a few times.

        That's understandable and I'm not saying that it's not impressive. I just don't think it was that big of a deal as people are making it out to be. If he did it throwing deep more during the game, that's one thing. Would it be impressive if someone went 25 for 25 throwing screen passes all game.
        
        You can't compare Brady to Grossman. Grossman probably couldn't even manage a game playing Madden.

    This doesnt seem to be something that someone on the Pats would say. NE has made it clear that they dont spend top dollar on anyone. They pitch the idea of winning, but they prospect has to take a pay cut, especially if its a skill guy. Welker sounds very bitter. Its understandable with the season that Brady gave him in 2007. I guarantee that the NE front office has already told him to keep his mouth shut.

  Honestly, I'd be thrilled if Asante grabbed five balls. But INTs aren't everything. I want to see the secondary really give Romo a hard time. Lito is usually the Cowboy Killer, but we had our asses handed to us in the first match of last year. I just want to see Terrell Owen's stat sheet read something like 2 cth, 8 yds. That'd be good for me.
  But 16 picks? Wow. Honestly... so many 13 year old kids who play Madden on rookie get the WRONG ideals about football. And people start judging players in the NFL based on their Madden OVR rating. It's funny.

    ok you are basing that the Patriots have no defense on what..Because Samuel left ?? And how is that? They have no defense because of what one guy??? One guy doesn't make a team, except in tennis. Trust me, the Patriots will always find a replacement. They decided not to give him the $$ he wanted, so he left. That is the way they are. If they needed him that badly and thought they could not win without him they would have paid him.

    Asante' Samuel is not the number corner in the league I have to say Asomugha is. Asante' played alot of zone cover 2 in New England. When he goes to Philly where they play alot of man he will get torched believe me he gambles way too much. Asomugha on the other hand plays soley man coverage. Just look at his man coverage on madden when it comes out it is 99 best on the game.

  WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA, I love the Eagles no doubt but TC is right in saying that a team would rather have Champ. But TC, Champ hasnt been much of a factor these last years, hes made the pro bowl due to reputation, and thats a huge accomplishment, but as of now the hottest CB out in Samuel or Cromartie. Cromartie hasnt been much of a factor up until lat year so for him the biggest thing is consistency. As for the lito vs sante, i think lito isn better if hes healthy but he never is. if he plays the whole season healthy he will be my top CB in the league. but to start a team around a corner is stupid but i would want cromartie over samuel only due to size thats it. Now just as samuels helpless without harrison cromarties nothing without jammer so go figure

  And yeah, Cromartie had one good year. Way too early to start anointing him with holy oil. I still think Champ is in the upper echelon of CBs in the league. He may not have had the big number of picks this year, but people need to realize... HE STRIKES FEAR INTO QBS. Most QBs don't throw to his side of the field. THAT is the mark of being a good CB.
  
  And I think it's pretty funny how so many good CBs in the league are going almost unnoticed. Samuel is a good CB, no doubt, but I don't think he is the number one in the league. Definitely top 5 though.

  Cromartie is a hell of a playmaker. Few years he SHOULD be the best CB if he has an above average work ethic, which he does. Just too much talent. But right now, that's all he is. A playmaker. He doesn't shut people down. When they are healthy these are the best in the game...

  Good corners SHOULDN'T have many INTs. Because a quarterback shouldn't be throwing to the receiver that a truly good corner is manned up on, because he should be basically taking that receiver out of the game.
  
  Judge a corner by the receivers he's faced during the season. Don't look at the CB's stats, look at the WR's stats.
  
  Here's an example for you... these are made-up statistics, but here you go.
  
  CB Cromartie is covering WR Marshall.
  Cutler hits Marshall for 2 TD passes, 5 catches, and 87 yards.
  But... Cromartie ends the day with 6 tackles, 2 PDs, and 2 INTs.
  
  CB Bailey is covering WR Chambers.
  Chambers ends the game with 1 catch for 6 yards.
  Bailey's final stats are 2 tackles and a PD.
  
  YOU judge who had the better game.

    Well what website do you get who covered who??? Because if you know anything about football, which it looks like you know a little, you would know that a CB doesnt guard the same guy every play. And in fact Cromartie gets a lot of his picks in zone d... The best Cb doesnt just have to have lock down D, there are quite a few other things that goes into a good CB. Just like a RB has to be a great runner, but also blocker, and receiver.

  eaglesrock... you dont know anything about samuel so stop acting like you do. Youre an eagles fan, the only time you saw samuel is when the pats took care of business in the super bowl against you clowns. All you need to know about samuel is is that hes extremely overrated and misses a bunch of tackles because he always tries to go for the interception. Sometimes he gets it, other times he doesnt and gets burned. Hes all about the money and even though Welker hasnt won a championship, everyone here knows damn well what he means.
  
  You guys are suckers for paying that much for a cornerback like samuel.
  
  there were tons of solid cornerbacks in the draft and you could have signed others for much cheaper. As long as donovan mcnabb is quarterback you wont win the super bowl anyways.

  sounds like welker is jealous because he didnt get alot money even though he chose to ride Moss' coattails vs being his own player Attack the eagles eh with samuel on one corner and lito and brown to lock down the rest you wont be playing against a second or third tier corner mr welker.
