Westbrook & Alexander = Great 1-2 punch?

The Seahawks have signed Julius Jones and TJ Duckett which could mean the end of the Shaun Alexander era in Seattle. My question to fellow Eagles fans is how you would feel about having him as a power back to compliment BWest? Alexander wouldn't be the feature back which could take some strain off of him and keep him healthy and hes a great power back when he is healthy.

Let me know what you guys think

Buckhalter is great when he's on the field we don't need Alexander plus he'll want a lot of money.

I AGREE WIT 5forlife I'M PULLING FOR BUCK. IF THEY PUT HIM ON THE FIELD HE MIGHT START TO SHOW HIS TALENT INSTEAD OF 4 PLAYS EVERY OTHER GAME.

TOO MUCH MONEY.....

Buckhalters great? hahaha yea he was 5 years ago. He's a one hit a season wonder. Who says Shaun will want much money? Running backs don't command big contracts, especially not ones on their decline. Look at Jamal Lewis...same situation

HE STILL HAS TALENT YOU FIGURE AFTER THE TWO KNEE SURGERIES THEY HAVEN'T PLAYED HIM SO THERE IS KNOW REAL DAMAGE TO HIM AS FAR AS BEING TACKLED NO BIG HITS SO AS LONG AS THE KNEES ARE GOOD PLAY THE MAN

So your logic leads me to believe that when he does get hit there could be some "real damage" Lets face it, the guys one hit away from being done forever.

Buckhalter stats this year vs. Alexanders. Remember Westbrook got like 90% of the carries this year.

Buckhalter:
62 Carries
313 Yards
5.0 Avg
4 TDs

Alexander:
CAR 207
YDS 716

Conclusion: Buckhalter is just as good for way less money.
AVG 3.5
TDS 4

My bad I cut of the stats.

you make a good point...Maybe Shaun has something to porve and will play a role...i doubt it happens though

prove

I doubt it will either, but hell...it'd be a cheaper option than getting a #1 WR via a trade. A great running attack makes mediocre receivers that much better....just ask Hines Ward, he'll tell ya!

YOU DON'T LIKE HINES WARD??

I have no problem with Hines, just the fact that hes viewed at a true #1 WR by many (mostly in Pittsburgh.) Hes a short possession receiver who rarely sees a double team or safety attention because defenses focus on the Steelers rushing attack. A year or 2 after Reggie Brown was drafted people compared him to Hines, which was something I never saw, but they said a problem with that is the Eagles don't have the rushing attack to take some pressure off of him.

I LIKE HIS SWAGGER HE'S NOT A TRUE #1 WR HE CAN HURT YOU DURING THE GAME IF YOU SLEEP ON HIM. AND IF ANDY LETS B-WEST OFF THE LEASH THATS HE HAS SO TIGHT WE WILL HAVE A RUSHING ATTACK THAT YOU WOULD HAVE TO RESPECT

If Andy lets westbrook off his "leash" he'll miss 4 games a year...he can't handle such a heavy load year in year out. We need to take some of the pressure off of him so he can actually play a full season. Ask LT how nice it was to have turner come in and give him a breather!

Alexander sucks. Buck is much better. We don't need a has been like Alexander. What a waste of money.

oh and Hine's cheats on his wife...not that its anything new among NFL players...but I could get some girls at Pitt to verify that for ya haha

I DIS AGREE HE CAN CARRY ALOT MORE THAN PEOPLE GIVE HIM CREDIT FOR.

no way! why use up cap on a backup?

yea pitts is right he wants a stating job

BUCK IS TALENTED, 5 TDS i mean for a full time backup that is good, but i agree when we need a power back, if we sign Lorenzo, WHO IS STILL OUT THERE, that solves our FB problems; eagles love running schemes with fullbacks we just havent had any good ones since ritchie, if we get Neal he will be much happier so will our 3rd and 1 situtations

NEAL? hahah hes damn near 40...but you seem to love older players who are towards the end of their careers

I like the Lorenzo Neal idea. Also, the question of Buck vs. Alexander is blocking and catching the ball out of the backfield. Buckhalter can't pick up the blitz and his hands aren't great. If they did pick up Alexander, it would be a significant upgrade. It also will never happen.

no. shan alexander runs like he's got a load of shit in his pants. get lorenzo neal.

alexander is gonna want too much money and he has to prove himself again that he can stay healthy!!! if we sign him to a 1 yr contract and see how he does it maybe a good pick up!!! i welcome all competition at camp!!!

I dont think Alexander would go for that i think he has to much pride with winning an MVP award and being a few yards short of a rushing title a fews years ago. He probally feels as though he still has gas in the tank to be a starter not a 3rd down short yardage back not yet anyway.

how do you know how much money he'd want?? i would think he wouldn't ask for much since hes on the decline of his career and he has never won a super bowl. I think he'd be willing to take a pay cut to play for a contender

us eagles fan's dont care anymore what happen's we just want to win! damn i'm 26 and i've watched ever philly team lose it. its time for us to go to a parade! please birds just do something to give us hope!

TO WIN WE NEED SUPPORT, LORENZO HAS BEEN GIVING IT< WITHOUT LORNZO LT WOULD NOT BE HAVING THE RUSINH TITLE WE APPRECIATE OUR FBs, SO NEAL WILL REALLY HELP US...A LOT

hes gonna wanna go soemwhere where hes the feature back , besides its way too much money when we are looking for things other then running back .. wtf do we need him for we drafted hunt

I would like to have him buck gets hurt easy but so does shaun but he will have less pressure which means less strain on his body but if it is between gettin him and getting a wr i would chose wr everytime

i was at the eagles seahawks game last year and alexander is a horriable running back.... the most over rated in the league........... power back hahahahahahahah

I'll agree with that. Alexander is way overrated...

im with ya guamboymr

Buckhalter is a beast.

Buckhalter, who you might remember, led the league rushing among rookies. After suffering some pretty serious injuries, he's come back powerfully. He ran wild the game that Westbrook missed, over 100 yards, and he deserves to be on the squad. I hope they keep him. Despite his talent, you never hear him bitchin' and moanin'.

i say we get lorenzo neal dudes a beats and would be a great fit

alexander is beat..hunt will fullfill the role when buck is out...i agree lets get neal..beast ass road grader...he opens up lanes!

You guys don't want Alexander... trust me on this one, he isn't even close to the player he was when he won MVP.... After watching him all last season it looks like he's scared almost...

Can Sean Alexander play WR?

well done stickman
