All things being equal, most writers and fans figured Moss would sign with the Patriots after both the Patriots and Moss became quiet on the subject. In trying to put a deal together that should be cap friendly and keep Moss super happy, they let Asante Samuel go without a proper contract negotiation. Now Samuel will soar with the Eagles. The Patriots did not give Donte' Stallworth his contract extension and also cut Rosevelt Colvin and Kyle Eckle saving huge numbers against the salary cap. Colvin will end up somewhere else for less money, but again it does not appear the Patriots tried to re-work the contract. Moss will be good for the Patriots and help bring up young receiver Chad 'who?' Jackson into the top receiver we all expected when the Pats moved up to grab him early in teh second round of the draft. Jackson could turn into a Moss/Stallworth type of player as he has speed and can catch the ball. It seems his attitude has kept him on the sidelines. Yes I know - I said Moss could help fix that? If the Patriots create all this cap space and do not sign Moss, then they have lost the chance to keep a few good players that know their system and not have many good players to choose from in free agency. But then maybe they give Vince Wilfork a huge extension? Any one else thinks this could turn into a mess like Deion Branch?

  • Safe to say that this teams cheapness over the years is now catching up with them...so tired of the recycled players they bring in...travesty as they will lose Moss...part of the cosmic justice folks... yeah, NE will be 10-6 next year tops...and maybe in a good way, just another team...therefore, stagnant lately Spygate might just go away as humility in other ways are on the horizon...funny, they used to call this team a model franchise..."the harder they cheat and are cheap, the harder they fall"...good luck Pioli and that weird coach

Face it, Randy Moss is Gone, It's Time to Move on

Let's face it Pats fans, this just wasn't meant to be. Randy Moss won't be walking through that door, just like Lawyer Milloy didn't walk through it, like Willie McGinnest didn't walk through it, like Ty Law didn't walk through it (though I really think we should be stalking him to come back -- there are no good corners on the market this year, he knows the...

Randy Moss looking for a team

Randy Moss has been a free agent for almost a full day. He reportedly is not happy with the deal that the Patriots are offering him, so he has begun listening to other teams. Even though he seems happy to be a Patriot, Moss feels like he is worth more than the Pats are offering him. Should the Eagles pursue?

Eagles Eyeing Moss?

"The latest rumor involves the Eagles going after possible free agent Randy Moss. Even though everything I have heard up until today has said that Moss will return to New England, Chris Mortenson of ESPN reported that the Eagles will go after Moss if he becomes available. I have scoured the internet, and have found no other source that can confirm this rumor, but it is still...

Is Randy Moss going to be with Daunte Culpepper or Tom Brady next year?

Is Randy Moss going to be with Daunte Culpepper or Tom Brady next year? I think Randy Moss will stay with Brady because Culpepper had 5 touchdowns in 7 games, and Tom Brady had 15 touchdowns in the last 7 games, and 27 touchdowns in his first 7 games. That's why I think Randy Moss should stay with Tom Brady. And besides Culpepper is probably not going to get a starting role with his...

Tedy Bruschi Staying With Pats: Why Fans Are Happy

Tedy Bruschi is staying with the Patriots; why he's a fan favorite.

I think Randy Moss is staying Pat!

I think Randy Moss is staying Pat! Although Moss is a great receiver he only plays well when he is motivated and happy. Moss recognizes that Brady and the Pats are his best chance of winning the Super Bowl. In addition I don't think other teams will take a chance with his attitude and very high salary. So bottom line, think Moss stays Pat!!!

Randy Moss to Colts?

Peyton Manning already has Harrison and Wayne, but could he possibly get more help? Rumor has it that Colts could be a possible destination for Randy Moss. Think about it....a 3 headed monster in Indy (Harrison, Wayne, and Moss), with Peyton Manning throwing to them would be more scary than the 2007 Patriots.

Eagles Signing of Samuel More for Show than of Substance

This just in, the Philadelphia Eagles have signed the top defensive Free Agent of 2008! Oh wait, they signed a cornerback? Didn't we have already have two starting cornerbacks under contract (although Lito Sheppard may have held out for more money)? After watching the 2007-08 Eagles play, did anyone walk away from that 8-8 season saying to themselves that this team really needed...

Eagles close to signing Samuel

With NFL free agency being just over an hour away, the rumors of the Eagles landing pro bowl CB Asante Samuel are heating up more than ever. If the Eagles bring Samuel to their nest, what would that mean? It's talked about here.

It's Official: Asante Samuel Signs with Eagles

The Eagles are answering Donovan McNabb's call for playmakers. After hours of speculation, the Eagles have finally signed Asante Samuel to a contract. The deal, pending a physical, is reportedly worth 54 million over six years, which is actually a little more affordable than was originally speculated. ProFootballtalk.com confirms the story.

Edwards Caught Belichick?

The New York Daily News reported today that Herm Edwards was one of the first coaches to catch Bill Belichick and the spygate scandal. When Herm Edwards was the head coach for the Jets four years ago he waved at the Patriots camera during a game.

NFL: Eagles sign CB Asante Samuel

Well McNabb said he wanted play makers, with the Philadelphia Eagles signing cornerback Asante Samuel they got one. The Eagles signed the prized free agent to a 6 year deal worth up to $60 million.

Browns continue signing players

The Cleveland Browns have continued with their spending spree, by signing former New England Patriots receiver Donte Stallworth. Stallworth gets a 7-year contract worth $35 million, there is $10 million in that contract that is guaranteed. He'll receive $17 million over the first 4 years of the contract. This is another good signing for the Browns and pretty good for Donte as well.

The Philly Sports Scene: What a Difference a Week Makes

Just one week ago, the Philly sports scene was grim. The Flyers lost ten straight games and their best player for the season, Mike Patterson of the Eagles got busted, the Phillies newly acquired closer got injured, and, while the Sixers were improving, they still were 7 games under .500. Flash forward to today. The Flyers have turned the corner and won two straight games...

Asante Samuel is an Eagle.
